Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: How to Open the A Game of Wits Safe

Dive into the A Game of Wits puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle — one of the toughest challenges in the Sukhothai region. To unravel the mystery and get the safe code, you'll have to play the board game Mak-Yek. If you're stuck and don't know how to solve this puzzle, this guide will help you.

Where to Find the A Game of Wits Puzzle

The puzzle is activated when you go up to the second floor of the bunks in Voss's camp and interact with the two notes on the table next to the safe. Nearby is a Mak-Yek game board, which serves as the key to the solution.

We recommend taking the Royal Army Guard disguise, which can be found near the bunks (by the stairs and showers). This will allow you to remain unnoticed while solving the puzzle.

How to Solve the Puzzle

Here are the basic rules of the game "Mak-Yek" that will help you:

  1. Pieces can move vertically or horizontally until they encounter an obstacle.
  2. Placing two of your pieces on opposite sides of an opponent's piece destroys the opponent's piece.
  3. Placing your piece between two enemy pieces at a distance of one cell destroys both enemy pieces.

Your task is to move the four blue pieces (a maximum of one move per piece) to destroy all the red pieces.

Puzzle Solution

  1. Move the piece from F1 to F3.
  2. Move the piece from H1 to D1.
  3. Move the piece from B1 to B8.
  4. Move the piece from F8 to F6.

Thus, after completing these steps, you will get the code 3186, which corresponds to the final vertical positions of the pieces. Use this code to open the safe next to the board. Inside, you'll find a generous amount of money that you can spend as you wish. This will complete the "Game of Wits" puzzle.

While examining the second floor, also pick up the comic Tales of Dread #5 and a substantial amount of money from boxes and wallets.
