The Idol of Ra: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Quest Walkthrough

The Idol of Ra is the second major storyline quest in the game Indiana Jones And The Great Circle. This time, Dr. Jones must explore much of the city of Giza and find various stelae to eventually reach the Idol of Ra. This guide describes a step-by-step walkthrough of the quest and the solution to the storyline puzzles.

The Airship

Once on board the zeppelin, watch the extended cutscene and explore the available location. In a small room on the left, you will find the skill book Cutman II, a note, and a small amount of money. When you're ready, interact with the hatch that Gina points to.

The Race is On

As soon as you arrive in Giza, you can immediately go in search of the skill book, which is nearby in a cave. Turn around and run in the opposite direction, where Gina calls the player. Pass through the ruins of buildings and find a small cluster of locals. Nearby, there's an entrance to a small cave where the True Grit book and a note will be waiting.

Note that there are several Nazis in the market. You can get rid of them — it won't be a problem. Then, before meeting a new character, talk to the doctor in the field hospital. This way, you'll start a similar quest to find medicine bottles that you might have found in the Vatican.

Additionally, you can find several notes and documents at the market. When you get tired of looking around, run to the large light-blue tent and watch the cutscene.

The Idol of Ra Quest Walkthrough

Before starting the main quest, we recommend following Gina and helping her find the Sanctuary of the Guardians by completing the eponymous quest. This way, you will not only get additional adventure points but also learn where to purchase a lighter — a rather useful travel item.

To complete the storyline quest, you need to find four out of six stelae. It doesn't matter which ones they are — in the final part of the quest, only four fit into the box. However, below we will tell you how to find all the stelae available on the map.

How to Find the Guardian's Stela

To get the Guardian's Stela, you need to meet Gina at the excavations under the Sphinx and complete the additional quest Sanctuary of the Guardians.

How to Find the Harvest Stele

Head to the central part of the map and reach the large tent with Nazi transport. Get rid of the two Nazis and read the note on the table. It contains a code — 0805. Use the combination to unlock the locked box in the truck's bed and obtain the storyline item Harvest Stele.

How to Find the Victory Stele

The next key item is hidden in the catacombs in the western part of the location. Opposite the cave entrance, you will also find a medicine bottle in a small tent.

At the entrance, take the torch on the right and light it with a lighter. If you don't have one, be sure to complete the side quest Sanctuary of the Guardians, which we mentioned earlier, or reach the Giza marketplace and purchase the item. Scare away the scorpions with the torch, squeeze through a narrow gap, and find the stele.

How to Find the Stele of Light

Another stele is located in the catacombs in the southwest of Giza. Near the excavation site, find a scientist named Omar, take the map of the catacombs from him, and deal with two generators that activate the elevator directly to the tomb. More details about this quest can be read here. Upon completing the task, you will receive the Stele of Light.

How to Find the Ra Stele

The next stele is optional if you have already found the previous ones. Head towards the large pyramid. Right at its base, you will encounter an excavation site. If you thoroughly inspect the officer's tent in the center of the location, you can find a medicine bottle. Additionally, in another tent, a skill book Brawler II will be waiting.

On the lower level, find the passage to the catacombs. Move forward, burning obstacles, then crawl under the wall and open the grate. Use the whip on the wooden beams to cross the gap. The main path leads to the exit, but we need to reach the passage on the left, where the plaque will be waiting.

Bring the Steles to Naval

If you have four steles, return to Naval and place them in the wooden box. Then cover the steles with another smaller box and take everything to the courier nearby.

Next to the courier on the wooden box, don't forget to pick up the envelope with work passes for the main characters. Give the passes to Naval and interact with the girls in the tent to trigger a cutscene and move to the excavation site.

Find the Tunnel Entrance

Explore the excavation area, find plenty of food and a few bandages. When you're ready, follow Gina, break down the fragile wall with a sledgehammer, and find a narrow passage to the room with mummies.

Enter the only door — the grate will close behind Indiana. At the end of the room lies a vessel that needs to be brought to Gina. Next to it is a torch. Use this item to scare away the scorpions: throw the vessel into the central part of the room, scare away the scorpions, then move the jar to Gina. Indiana doesn't throw items very far, so you'll have to repeat the actions about three times.

Take Down the Nazi Flag

Players will find themselves on the main Nazi base territory. It's best to clear this area and explore as thoroughly as possible. Among particularly valuable items, you can find the comic Scary Stories #2, a medicine bottle behind the main building, bandages, and money.

When you're ready, interact with the flag and watch the explosion in the opposite part of the camp.

Reach Voss's Office

Enter the main building in the center of the camp and explore the first floor. Several Nazis patrol here. On the table, you can read a letter and grab some money, and in the utility room, there's a locked safe. It can be opened with the combination — 40926. The note with the code is located on the table one floor up. Inside the safe, you'll find a gold bar (250 lira), a note, and a pistol.

On the second floor, take the radiogram, the skill book Slug Boy I, the note with the code, several documents, and money. When you're ready, go up to the third floor and interact with the door to Voss's office. It will be locked, but Gina will kindly offer to help and open it.

Search Voss's Office

In the Nazi's office, you can find five documents, a key, money, and a medicine bottle. All items are in plain sight. The only thing that might escape your notice is a note on the windowsill behind the desk.

After doing this, Gina will point to the neighboring building where the professor is located. Take a photo of him and head to that building.

How to Reach Voss

Next to the building where Voss went, there is a two-story hangar. You need to climb onto the roof and use the power line cable. You can enter the hangar from the outside using boxes and a ladder, or from the inside. On the upper floor of the hangar, you will find a page from an old scientist's diary.

Once on the balcony, open the grate with the key found in Voss's office, then interact with the wooden planks on the floor to trigger a cutscene. Examine the corpse on the table and study the diary, after which the task will change.

Meet Naval and Escape the Tunnel

Take the document from the table on the first floor and leave the building. Here you just need to run forward and reach the cave entrance. Go through and find another passage. After the cutscene, pick up the sledgehammer and break the fragile wall.

Examine the Dream Stele

The task marker will indicate the entrance to the catacombs under the great pyramid. Reach this place and find a small bush among the ruins. Right under it is the entrance to the catacombs. However, first, stop by the excavation site and borrow any two-handed weapon from the workers, as you will need it to break the fragile wall in this area.

After doing this, run along the only path to the next puzzle.

How to Solve the Resonance Puzzle

First, photograph six stone tablets, one of which is broken. Use the crawlspace under the wall to enter another room and find a few more tablets, as well as the missing piece. There's also a sledgehammer here, which you can use to break the wall and return.

Lay out the six photographs at the large statue. Mentally number the images from left to right, so that in the upper part are photographs 1-3, and in the lower part 4-6, then activate them in the following sequence:

  • 2 — Heed
  • 1 — The Lord's
  • 4 — Oath
  • 6 — Protect
  • 3 — The Secret
  • 5 — Of the Name

How to Find the Ancient Relic

Navigate through the catacombs and take pictures of the rock paintings. At some point, the main path will lead to the right, and on the left, you can see a chasm. If you jump to the opposite side, you'll find a relic.

How to Solve the Three-Eyed Gate Puzzle

The next puzzle awaits you behind a door that you will open using sunlight and a mirror. First, we recommend inspecting the left side of the room to find another ancient relic.

How to Open the Left Door

Return to the only working mirror at the moment and direct the light beam to the symbol in the upper right corner. A passage to another mirror will open on the left. Run there and direct the light beam to the reflecting bowl in the main hall.

How to Open the Right Door

Since you have two beams available, direct one to the image in the upper left corner and the second to the symbol in the center right. The opposite door will open, where you can find the missing mirror.

How to Solve the Puzzle

Since you have three beams, you just need to correctly match the symbols and open the gate. For convenience, use our screenshots.

How to Find the Ancient Relic

As you continue through the caves, you'll come across a locked room. If you don't thoroughly explore the caves, you might miss it altogether. To reach the desired location, in the large adit, jump to the ledge on the right, then climb higher using the whip. On the left, you'll notice another ledge to jump onto by swinging.

This way, you'll reach a strange device where Indy can insert ancient relics. The main thing is to have enough of them — we needed four. Insert all available relics and turn to the right. The door will open, and the hero will retrieve the used items and also find another relic in a small room.

How to Defeat the Giant

Make your way back and run towards the light. You can pick up a sledgehammer here — it will be useful in the boss battle of the level. In the large hall, stand on the first pressure plate, then find two more similar ones. When all three plates are activated, interact with the idol in the central part of the room.

Another giant will appear. Unlike the previous one, this opponent is blind but has very acute hearing. We recommend moving in a crouch or avoiding stepping on the coins scattered around the hall.

First, find the pressure plates again and activate them to navigate the space without using a lighter. However, as soon as you step on a plate, the enemy will hear Indiana and rush towards him. Just crouch and move away.

Several sledgehammers will be scattered around the room. You can throw them at the giant or hit him — it doesn't matter. The main thing is to avoid getting caught, as the enemy will deal significant damage if he grabs the hero.

After defeating him, remove the medallion from his chest and insert it into the idol's slot. Watch the cutscene, after which you'll need to quickly escape the tomb.

How to Find the Exit

When the room starts filling with sand, Indiana will mention that there must be an exit somewhere. Look around and find the passage on the upper levels where sunlight is coming through. Run in that direction, periodically jumping to avoid getting trapped under the sand. We simply pressed against the wall and spammed the Space key.

After the cutscene, the soldiers will leave the hero alone with the desert inhabitants — scorpions. When they surround you, you'll need to fend off the arthropods one by one. As soon as a spider attempts to attack, aim the cursor at it and press the attack key.

Watch the lengthy cutscene that concludes the storyline quest.
