In this article, we have compiled a detailed description of console commands that will grant you access to immortality, enhanced armor and weapons, money, and magical shouts. Learn how to level up and become a true hero in the world of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition.
The name of one of the most popular RPG series of all time by Bethesda Softworks evokes a myriad of emotions and associations. Vast game worlds with a unique atmosphere, limitless action possibilities, a multitude of races to choose from and customize your character's appearance, a unique leveling system with many perk and skill branches. All this and much more is offered by The Elder Scrolls series.
In Skyrim, there's even more of all this. To level up all skills, see all spells and talents, weapons, locations, and much more that the developers have prepared in this game, will take a lot of time. For the most curious players who want to take a look at practically all available mechanics, we have prepared a collection of cheat codes (console commands) for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Whether to use them is up to you, but we strongly advise against using them to progress through the storyline.
How to Enter Cheat Codes
Simply open the console in the game using the tilde (~) key and select the necessary console command.
If squares appear instead of characters when entering console commands
Remove the squares when entering cheat codes as follows: go to the game folder (SkyrimDataInterface), find the file «fontconfig.txt» and replace the line «map «$ConsoleFont» = «Arial» Normal» with «map «$ConsoleFont» = «FuturaTCYLigCon» Normal». Then save the changes.
If the file does not save or suggests saving a copy of the file, do the following: in the properties of the file «fontconfig.txt» remove the checkmark from «Read Only», click «Apply», then again make changes to the file, save it and put the checkmark back.
To set the English language in the game console:
- Navigate to «C:/Documents and Settings/User/Documents/My Games/Skyrim/»;
- Open the file «Skyrim.ini»;
- Find the line sLanguage=Language;
- Directly below it, add the command sConsole=ENGLISH.
If after these actions the language in the Skyrim console remains the same or you cannot find the file «Skyrim.ini», then delete the line sConsole=ENGLISH (if added) and set English as the default language in the operating system: Start — Control Panel — Language and Regional Standards. In the «Languages» tab, click the «Details» button and select English from the drop-down menu, which will always be set as the default language when the system boots up after these actions.

How to Enter Cheat Codes (Console Commands) for Skyrim on Consoles?
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is one of the most popular role-playing games. It has seen impressive sales, with a significant portion coming from gaming consoles — Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PS 4, and, more recently, the Nintendo Switch.
Thus, a considerable number of players are asking: how can the above cheat codes be entered in the console version of the game? How to open the console on a gaming console to enter codes?
Despite the vast number of such and similar queries, none of the console versions of Skyrim offer the ability to enter codes. The reason is quite simple: these versions of the game simply lack the console feature. And if there's nowhere to input cheats, then they cannot be utilized.
It's worth noting that this practice of omitting cheat codes is not that common. For instance, in Grand Theft Auto 5 and many other Rockstar Games titles, cheats are activated by special combinations of gamepad button presses. Unfortunately, TES 5: Skyrim does not have this feature.
The fact is that Skyrim's codes are not exactly cheats in the eyes of the developers. The console in the game is primarily used as a debugging tool. With it, practically anything can be done: changing graphic settings, creating characters, editing any objects, disabling and activating scripts, and much more.
The codes mentioned in this article are just a drop in the ocean of console commands for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. In reality, there are many, many more. However, most of them do not serve any benefit for the game character, so we did not include them here.
A similar situation with special commands occurred in Half-Life 2. In the PC version of the game, users had access to the console. With its help, they could manipulate the game in any way, making numerous changes.
And yes, some commands could be considered as conditional cheats (getting all weapons, flying through walls, etc.), as they indeed helped in navigating through difficult moments. However, in the console versions of Half-Life 2, there was no console, nor access to all this rich functionality.
