In Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, the player restores a rusty wreck to a brand-new, tuned car. Released for PC on July 28, 2017, it offers a single-player mode with a storyline.

This is a full-fledged car mechanic simulator, featuring every car component: from the engine to the gearbox, from the front bumper to the rear spoiler. The units are also divided into many basic components, such as pistons in the engine or gears in the gearbox.

The novelty of CMS18 is a decent level of graphics, well-developed car and component models that match the quality of major racing simulators, as well as a realistic physical model. Depending on the assembly, the car can slip, brake poorly, or behave unstably, so the player must adjust the balance of their restored car.

In Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, there is no open game world, but there is a map with points for workshops, barns with car junk, junkyards, car dealerships, and test tracks. Most of the time, the player spends in the workshop, where at the beginning of the game, there is only basic equipment.

By completing story missions, finding and restoring cars for subsequent sale, the player gains experience and money. Experience levels unlock new opportunities and abilities, and money can be used to buy additional equipment, new garage functions, and parts in stores.

The story mode focuses not so much on tinkering with details as on working with clients and building a car repair business empire: a client brings their car to you, says "something isn't working" or "the engine is knocking," and now it's your task to quickly identify and fix the problem.

At the initial stage, the garage has neither modern equipment nor computer diagnostics. You have to disassemble each unit by hand, inspect it visually, and think a lot about what and where broke.

Sometimes, it's enough just to assemble and disassemble the mechanism, clean it, and lubricate it. More complex breakdowns involve non-working elements of the mechanism that need to be found. The higher the workshop level, the more complex the breakdown and the more parts will not work.

In single-player mode, the player must run around junkyards and barns, searching for car junk to restore. The idea is to find a body cheaply, repair everything, and sell the ready-made car at a high price.

There is a lot of work to be done, and it is divided into stages. First, you need to assemble the units: the engine, gearbox, transmission, wheels, for which you will have to find suitable elements in stores, and then install them.
