The Assassin's Creed series of games is a story set in dozens of different time periods. All thanks to the fact that the heroes of the game, using a machine called “Animus,” can inhabit the bodies of their ancient ancestors and view ancient history through their eyes. The protagonists manage to visit Europe, the USA, Egypt, and Japan.
The ancestors of the main characters are assassins who use unique equipment to silently kill single targets. Protagonists often have to climb tall buildings, hide from pursuit through various methods, and carry out assassination orders in order to advance through the plot. They are also constantly at war with Templar Freemasonry.
