Heavy Rain is an interactive adventure movie with a third-person view from the creators of Fahrenheit. The events of the game take place in a small American town, which was shocked by a series of murders of children, next to whom origami figures were found. An FBI agent arrives in the city and begins investigating the case of the mysterious “origami killer,” although he is not the only one trying to get to the truth. You have 4 characters to choose from, and the plot depends on the choices you make as you progress. If any of the four characters dies, the game will still continue, and his death also affects both the events of the game and the events of the epilogue.

An indescribable first experience in the genre of interactive cinema, coupled with an excellent plot (the mystery of the entire game - who is the maniac? - keeps you in suspense until the very end). And the heady choice of developments in the manner of “do it one way or another, but there are third/fourth options” makes you think about every step. Four main characters, a lot of riddles and tasks, 3-4 individual endings for each of the protagonists... Such games are played most correctly the first time, when you purely instinctively choose this or that action, do what you would do if you find yourself in a similar situation.
So who is the killer? You will be surprised...
Непередаваемый словами первый опыт в жанре интерактивного кино, сопряжённого отличным сюжетом (тайна всей игры — кто же маньяк? — держит в напряжении до последнего). А пьянящий выбор развития событий на манер «сделай так или иначе, но есть и третий/четвёртый варианты» вовсе заставляет думать над каждым шагом. Четыре главных героя, масса загадок и заданий, по 3-4 индивидуальных концовок для каждого из протагонистов… Такие игры проходятся наиболее правильно впервые, когда ты чисто инстинктивно выбираешь то или иное действие, делаешь так, как поступил бы, попав в подобную ситуацию.
Так кто же убийца? Вы будете удивлены...

A very touching game. The graphics here are not the best, but quite decent for games of that time, but the plot exceeds any expectations. After completing the entire game, you will be surprised to enjoy the not-so-expected ending.
Очень трогательная игра. Графика здесь не самая-самая, но вполне себе достойная для игр того времени, зато сюжет превосходит любые ожидания. Пройдя всю игру вы с удивлением насладитесь не самой ожидаемой концовкой.
I heard a lot of snobbish whining about this game before the game finally received a port on PC, saying it was a soapy movie and so on. But the plot and atmosphere here are really so strong that they can replace everything that is supposedly missing in this game (gameplay, etc.). This is truly a must play for any gamer at least once.
True, there are at least 2, if not minuses, then nuances:
1) If you play too carefully (reap all QTEs in time), then the ending will turn out to be too ideal and sugary. I played through it only once out of habit, setting the difficulty level to medium, but I dare to suggest that for greater unpredictability, you should immediately set the maximum difficulty level so that spontaneous mistakes would somehow affect the plot.
2) Fixed cameras are evil and archaic.… Read full
Наслушался много снобского нытья об этой игре до того как игра наконец получила порт на ПК, мол мыльное кинцо и прочее. Но сюжет и атмосфера здесь действительно настолько сильны что могут заменить все что якобы недостает в этой игре (геймплей и прочее). В это действительно нужно поиграть хотя бы один раз любому геймеру.
Правда есть минимум 2 если не минуса то нюанса:
1) Если играть слишком аккуратно (вовремя жать все QTE) то концовка получится слишком идеальной и слащавой. Я проходил лишь один раз по привычке поставив средний уровень сложности но смею предположить что для бОльшей непредсказуемости надо сразу ставить максимальный уровень сложности чтобы спонтанные ошибки хоть как-то влияли на сюжет.
2) Фиксированные камеры это зло и архаизм. Я еще понимаю Resident Evil 1 или Silent Hil… Read full
Heavy Rain came out a long time ago, but it’s still a breeze: the plot, the memorable characters, the atmosphere, the player’s choices - in a word, a masterpiece) Even though there are a lot of plot holes, it’s still one of my favorite games.
Heavy Rain вышла вроде уже давным-давно, но до сих пор проходится на одном дыхании: сюжет, запомнающиеся персонажи, атмосфера, выборы игрока — словом, шедевр) Хоть и много сюжетных дыр, все равно одна из моих любимых игр.
