Hotline Miami is a tense action game filled with furious violence, dynamic shootouts, and bloody hand-to-hand combat. Set in the mysterious dimension of Miami in 1989, the player takes on the role of a mystical anti-hero wreaking havoc in the underworld, all guided by the voices on the protagonist's answering machine.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is the brutal conclusion to the saga, set against a backdrop of escalating violence and a thirst for revenge for the blood spilled in the original game. The main action takes place parallel to the events of the original Hotline Miami, where the protagonist was killing Russian mobsters left and right and occasionally stumbled upon the corpses of masked strangers. The player will take on the role of these people, known as Jacket's fans, in some levels. Other events, unfolding after those in the original, will include the filming of a movie based on Jacket's story.
