NetHack — turn-based role-playing computer game in the roguelike genre. All actions occur only after the player performs an action. The graphical interface in NetHack is presented in 2 options: text and graphic. In the text interface, objects and creatures are represented by symbols. In the GUI, characters are replaced with sprites.
Before taking control of his character, the player is asked to choose the role, race, gender and alignment of the future character, or allow the game to randomly generate these parameters. The player's chosen role and alignment determine the deity that his character believes in, and also influence the attitude of enemies living in dungeons towards the character.
