I really like this game. When I launched it for the first time, I had mixed feelings. I thought that the game was unlikely to hook me with its so-called realistic and immersive narrative. And yet, in the end, I was 100% satisfied with Rdr 2. What’s especially pleasantly surprising is how deep the plot in this game is about complexity, redemption and making your own decisions. This is literally a very interesting complex story about a man who was able to make the greatest self-sacrifice in his life, change and become a good person. This story reminds me of an old game by Rockstar Games called Grand Theft Auto 4. This is probably the only GTA that will be on the level of Rdr 2 in terms of complexity of storytelling. When I played through it, I constantly experienced some strange sign of déjà vu. And then I remembered that a similar detail was conditionally in Gta 4. Take, for example, the main protagonists - Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic. They seem to be very different characters, but in reality this is absolutely not the case.
Examples of similarities:
• Complex and morally gray characters: Both Arthur and Nico are complex people with their own motives and flaws. These are not just heroes or villains, but characters who focus on a morally gray world, often forced to make difficult choices with tragic consequences.
• Seeking Redemption: Both characters seek redemption for their past actions. Arthur tries to make amends for his sins, especially after he is diagnosed with tuberculosis. Nico seeks a better life in America, believing it will offer him a new beginning .
• Relationships with Family: Both Arthur and Nico value their family connections. Arthur has a close bond with his gang, especially Dutch, despite their increasingly questionable actions. Nico seeks a connection with his cousin Roman, which gives him a sense of belonging in a new country.
I won’t describe everything - this is more likely for a separate post, well, in general, I want to say that the game pleased me very much with its deep, complex story, which left me with a lot of emotions that I experienced in my time playing GTA 4 and believe me , who wouldn’t think anything, but I’m not saying that these are the same stories - these are, first of all, two unique stories that are shown from different angles, it’s just that the aesthetics of these 2 works of art are so identical that I couldn’t help but talk about it. Thank you for your attention.
