The expansion continues the story of the Skif, unfolding parallel to the events of the main game and offering a new perspective on the Zone. The journey takes place across two new regions — the abandoned Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the tangled territories of the Iron Forest, where each location is filled with its own quests, hideouts, and dangers. Among anomalies, mutants, and hidden threats, survival once again becomes the main priority, and the expanded arsenal provides more opportunities to deal with risks.

The center of the story is the intensified conflict between "Duty" and "Freedom," whose views on the nature of the Zone are finally diverging. The narrative revolves around choices and consequences, gradually drawing players into intrigues that can affect not only the balance of power within the Zone but also the future beyond it.
