The Good Life is a three-dimensional adventure with a third-person view and role-playing elements from the creators of Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die. The action takes place in the small town of Rainy Woods, where journalist Naomi Hayward arrives one day. She has large debts, so she needs to earn a lot of money as quickly as possible. It turns out that something strange is happening with the local residents. At night, they turn into animals. As soon as the heroine learns about this, a mysterious murder occurs in the town. The girl wants to uncover the secrets of Rainy Woods and find the criminal.

The game offers a certain freedom of action. You can explore the open world, grow vegetables in the garden, cook food, visit pubs, interact with local residents, earn money to buy various items, and also turn into cats and dogs. By the way, some mechanics are tied to this. For example, in the body of a cat, the heroine can climb trees, and as a dog, she can track targets. Naomi can also earn money. To do this, she needs to take various photos and then post them on social media to increase her followers.
