Prequel to the entire horror series Outlast. The plot centers on a group of experimental subjects abducted by the Murkoff company during the Cold War. Scientists are testing new brainwashing and mind control techniques on unsuspecting volunteers. During the game, the heroes will face not only their nightmares, but also other subjects. You can play the game alone or in co-op with up to four people.

The game hasn't been released yet, but a closed beta was available at the end of October, which I checked out.
I didn’t really like it, although the first impressions were bomb, after all, the new part of Outlast. But after completing the training solo demo, the multiplayer main part of the game begins, and if not the entire atmosphere collapses, then a considerable part of it certainly does. Outlast has been famous all its life for its atmosphere of complete loneliness in the midst of madness, but here you are not alone, there are four of you. No, of course you can play it solo, but it’s practically impossible, the entire gameplay is designed specifically for co-op.

Игра ещё не вышла, но в конце октября была доступна закрытая бета, с которой я ознакомился.
Мне не особо зашло, хотя первые впечатления были бомбическими, как никак, новая часть Аутласта. Но после прохождения обучающей соло-демки начинается мультиплеерная основная часть игры и если не вся атмосфера рушится, то немалая её часть точно. Аутласт всю жизнь славился именно своей атмосферой полного одиночества посреди безумия, а здесь ты не один, вас четверо. Нет, конечно можно проходить и в соло, но это практически невозможно, весь геймплей заточен именно под кооператив.
Вдобавок теперь можно драться: кидать кирпичи и бутылки в гадов, даже ставить мины можно, и это уже совсем бредово.
Ну и в целом, появилось много новых механик, но и старые приколы тоже остались. Такие неотъемлемые вещ… Read full
