Baldur's Gate 3 could have had a more complex resurrection mechanic that would send the player into another dimension — the Fugue Plane. After each «death», gamers had to find a way to the world of the living.
As the head of Larian Studios Sven Vincke said, this method existed at an early stage of the game's development:
According to him, this idea was eventually abandoned due to the complexity of implementation.
The Fugue Plane in the world of D&D represents the realm of the dead, where souls go to be judged by the gods. After this, they either remain in this dimension and disappear, or are sent to other heavens.
Previously, Sven Vincke spoke about the nuances of the studio's work on adult scenes in Baldur's Gate 3.
