Helldivers 2 has been removed from sales on Steam for countries where PSN is not available
Helldivers 2 has been removed from sale on Steam in more than 170 countries. It is not possible to create an account on PlayStation Network in all of these regions.
A complete list of countries can be seen in SteamDB. Representatives from Arrowhead and Sony have not yet responded to the incident.
Meanwhile, PlayStation console owners on Reddit also decided to support PC players by starting to downgrade Helldivers 2 in the PS Store. So far it remains at 4.5 out of 5.
It is noteworthy that Arrowhead representatives themselves directly asked players to leave negative reviews. As one of the studio's community managers wrote in the official Discord channel, «players expressing dissatisfaction through reviews and refunds give us a better chance of success in negotiations with Sony.»
Let us remind you that on May 3, PC gamers were informed of the need to link their Steam account to the PlayStation Network to play Helldivers 2. From May 30, this condition will become mandatory. In response, players began to «sink» the project on Steam with negative reviews, since not all countries allow you to have a PSN. Changing the region with third-party programs also did not become a reliable solution — one of the Chinese players received a ban in Helldivers 2 for trying to bypass the regional restriction.
