All Enemies in Helldivers 2 and Ways to Destroy Them

Helldivers 2 features a multitude of dangerous creatures that pose a threat to the inhabitants of Super Earth and its colonies. The Termids and Automata are the first two factions players battle against from the moment of release. The enemy commands a vast and diverse army, which is replenished with new units with each update. Every experienced drop trooper should know their enemy by sight and be able to defeat them even on the highest difficulty levels. In this guide, we will discuss each type of enemy and offer the most effective ways to combat them.

Bugs-Termids in Helldivers 2

Termids are the first main faction of giant bugs that have become a hallmark of Helldivers 2. They are highly susceptible to gunfire, as most of them have a fragile shell. Unlike the automatons, bugs prefer close-combat attacks and often try to approach a drop trooper from an unprotected angle. In battles with larger specimens, we recommend aiming for the legs, as they are less armored and significantly slow down movement.

Most Helldivers 2 players consider Termids an easy target. At least because they cannot aim and shoot from a long distance. But on difficulties above high, Termids can give even the most seasoned drop troopers a hard time. Especially when particularly large specimens emerge from the ground, which can only be killed with an orbital cannon or a grenade launcher.

Basic Termids: Scavengers, Jumpers, Hunters, Warriors

Basic Termids share one characteristic: they fight exclusively in close combat. They can quickly cover large distances and suddenly pounce on the player from behind. These bugs come in four types:

Scavengers: small orange or red flea-like insects that often move in small groups. Very easy to kill with any weapon. Usually, they fill the space and shield the larger specimens with their bodies. Sometimes you will encounter Spitters, which are bright green and spit slowing drops of slime.

Scavenger

Jumpers: small bugs with a pale coloration and light-green facets. Slightly more dangerous than scavengers due to their ability to jump long distances. Killed with any weapon. The main thing is not to let them reach your armor.

Jumper

Hunters: these Termids resemble jumpers but are larger in size. Hunters leap great distances and deliver deadly close-combat attacks. At higher difficulty levels, hitting a drop trooper applies a slowing effect.

Hunter

Warriors: the largest and most armored of the basic bugs. They are quite slow compared to their kin, but can kill your drop trooper with a single blow upon close contact. At high difficulty, they can spit toxic bile, so try not to get too close. Killed with any firearm. Try to shoot their bodies even after decapitation, as they continue to live without their main sensory organs.

Warrior

General tips for fighting basic Termids: kill the bugs with shotguns loaded with incendiary rounds. Do not take single-shot rifles and laser guns to battles. They struggle with hordes of insects and are extremely inconvenient for quickly eliminating an approaching hunter. If you notice that one of these creatures has stopped and begun to emit orange gas while making singing sounds, it means it is trying to summon a horde of Termids. Kill it as quickly as possible.

Hive Guards

These creatures are slightly higher in the hierarchy than warriors. They are dark-colored Termids with armor on their heads and front legs. When attacking, they can squat to protect vulnerable body parts from bullets. Kill them with armor-piercing guns. If you don't have one with you: circle around the bugs and shoot at the belly.

Hive Guard

Shriekers

Recently introduced flying bugs in the game, which jump from above and hit hard with their limbs. They are quite fragile and shatter into pieces upon being hit. They can cause problems due to their high speed and large numbers during an attack.

Shrieker

General tips for fighting: Shriekers appear in nests resembling glowing mushrooms. As soon as you encounter them, destroy them as quickly as possible to prevent the emergence of flying bugs. After killing a creature, try to dodge the falling remains, as they deal significant damage upon hitting you.

Stalkers

Very dangerous creatures that quickly deal with Helldivers who have fallen behind the group. They are white in color and resemble praying mantises. They can become invisible and very fast. Often attack from ambush. They deal very high damage and knock down upon hitting.

Stalker

General tips for fighting: If you spot a stalker, mark it for the rest of the squad. This bug can absorb too much damage if you are shooting with a small-caliber rifle. It is afraid of fire and shotguns. Often, a stalker lives near its lair, so try to find and destroy it as soon as possible.

Bile Spewers and Feeding Spitters

Bile Spewers are huge armored bugs with a large green belly. They move very slowly and do not pose a serious threat in close combat. But when they start spitting corrosive acid, they can kill with one hit. Upon death, they explode and spill dangerous goo. On higher difficulties, they can shoot acid artillery over large areas. They also have a weaker variant — Feeding Spitters. They have an orange color and are killed with a couple of hits.

Bile Spewers

General tips for fighting: Do not stand in front of a bile spewer. When it starts spewing acid, immediately jump to the side. Aim for the bug's mouth to deal with it without wasting ammunition. If you have a rocket launcher or grenades, hit the monster in its vulnerable belly.

Brood Commanders

High-ranking Termid with a red or brown hue. They lead the attack of the aforementioned bugs and can also summon several warriors for their own protection. They deal very high damage in close combat and can blind when crushing.

Brood Commander

General combat tips: Do not let it get close to you and try to deal with it first. Do not allow the bug to summon reinforcements. Do not try to aim for the commander's head, as without it, it becomes even more aggressive and dangerous. In such form, the Termid quickly closes in on the trooper and dispatches them with one hit.

Chargers

Chargers spawn on medium and high difficulty levels. They pose a significant threat to the trooper due to their very heavy armor and lethal strikes. They resemble rhinoceros beetles. Often they run face-first at the player and trample them into the mud. Immune to most types of weapons. After updates, they no longer fear the railgun. Can survive two to three magazines of high-caliber rifle.

Charger

General combat tips: Avoid charger attacks by jumping from side to side. Try to find cover that the brute will crash into at a run. Shoot only at the unarmored part of the bug, which is located on the back. Once the weak spot on the back explodes, they will start to suffer from bleeding damage and will die within a minute. Explosives and powerful weapons can break the charger's armor and expose its fragile body. In such a case, it can be killed with conventional weapons. The flamethrower has proven itself excellent in combat against armored Termids.

Bile Titans

The biggest and most dangerous of the Termids. These towering giants spew deadly acid and easily trample hell troopers. Often become the constant objective of missions on higher difficulties. Not uncommonly attack two to three individuals at a time. Especially like to harass during evacuation.

Bile Titan

General combat tips: Try to keep your distance and poke their belly with armor-piercing weapons. Once a vulnerable spot is created, use a powerful gun or stratagem to inflict devastating damage. Useful tools include: Railgun, Autocannon, Recoilless Rifle, Anti-tank Mine, Laser Cannon, Orbital Railgun Strike, Orbital Laser, Eagle with 500-kg bombs, Eagle with 110-mm rocket pods. Reviving teammates should land on the carapace of the bile titan to deal additional damage.

Automaton Bots in Helldivers 2

The second major enemy faction. A more lethal faction than the Termids with very strong armor and additional protection against firearms. Attacks are often long-range, but there are entities that strike exclusively up close. More vulnerable to energy weapons and armor-piercing rounds. Practically immune to fire and incendiary ammunition.

If you see the bot launching a signal flare, it means it's about to summon one or three dropships, which will scatter a multitude of enemies around the area. The transporters can be destroyed with a rocket launcher, as well as with turret stratagems.

Basic Bots: Soldiers, Raiders, Marauders, Commissars

Basic humanoid-type robot soldiers. They hardly differ from each other in appearance. They are distinguished only by their weapons. Soldiers carry basic laser blasters. Marauders have two dangerous blades in their limbs. Raiders carry rocket launchers and also use jetpacks for mobility. Commissars carry a pistol and a blade. The latter can shoot signal flares and call for reinforcements.

Soldier

General combat tips: despite being the weakest type, you should not underestimate the automatons. Try to keep your distance from them. Aim well. They are easily killed by a headshot. Avoid their line of fire, as these robots can easily shoot you across half the map at higher difficulty levels.

Commissar

Berserkers

Spiky robots with chainsaws instead of weapons. They can only attack in close combat and wear quite flimsy armor. Quite fast and annoying. Try not to let them get too close.

Berserker

General combat tips: aim for the head and the glowing parts on the body. You can shoot off the berserkers' arms to get rid of the chainsaws. A high-caliber rifle is perfect for quickly dealing with the pesky opponent.

Scout Striders

Not an automaton, but a vehicle. Piloted by basic bots, which use armor for front protection. They shoot from laser cannons. Very fast and can knock you down.

Scout Strider

General combat tips: killing the pilot is the easiest way to destroy the strider. The main thing is to get behind them and with one accurate shot blow the bot's head off. If you can't shoot them in the back, then hit the armored chassis with high-caliber weapons. The railgun and high-caliber rifle are great for this.

Devastators

Large armored robots with an intimidating appearance. They first appear at medium difficulty. They come in three types: basic with a laser cannon, with rocket launchers on the shoulders, a rapid-fire laser, and a shield in the other hand.

Devastator

General combat tips: try to shoot the small head of the devastator or the abdominal area, where you can see the spine and cables. Players can also fire at the robot's weapon and rocket launchers to disable them. Stun grenades are very effective. They increase the chance of hitting the devastator's head.

Hulks

Heavy artillery of automatons. They appear at high difficulty levels. Heavily armored and absolutely indestructible. They are divided into three types: executioners with a flamethrower and circular saw, brutes with a rocket launcher and laser cannon, and obliterator with a cluster bomb launcher.

Hulk

General combat tips: The main vulnerability of a Hulk is the glowing radiators on their backs. If you deal enough damage, they will explode, causing severe bleeding that will eventually take down the behemoth. If you have special weapons, shoot the Hulk in the red slit on its head. In other cases, use any stratagems with artillery.

Combat Cruisers

Flying warships that brightly illuminate with laser targeting and fire salvos from all guns. They will follow the troopers across the map until they are destroyed.

Combat Cruiser

General combat tips: They are quickly destroyed by any special weapons. Shoot the engine with a railgun, quasar cannon, or reliable rifle. Use as much cover as possible to avoid getting caught in the line of fire.

Automaton Tanks

The most dangerous type of automaton machinery. Often appear at high difficulty levels. Very slow but very deadly. They are divided into two types:

  • Annihilator — equipped with a pair of laser blasters and a huge heavy cannon.
  • Shredder — only has a laser cannon. More agile than the annihilator.
Tank

General combat tips: Like the hulks, they have radiators on the back that need to be heavily damaged. Try to climb onto the tank's roof to avoid counter-fire and quickly shoot the radiator grille. Be extremely cautious: tanks are heavily armored and deadly. We recommend not to waste all your ammunition and to use a rocket launcher or suitable stratagem.

Stationary Cannon Turrets

Not standard enemies, but they still hinder peaceful territory clearance. In fact, these are static Annihilator tanks that kill any target with a single shot. They can fire from a very long distance.

Cannon

General combat tips: Use cover and maneuverability to quickly approach the turret. It won't be able to shoot you if you stand right next to it. There's a radiator vent on the back that can be destroyed with any armor-piercing weapon. In any case, it's better to use a 500-kg bomb from a stratagem and not waste extra time and ammunition on this target.

Factory Striders

Huge walking fortresses that destroy everything in their path with a cannon tower. Often accompanied by a squad of devastators. The biggest opponent among automatons at the moment.

Factory Strider

General combat tips: Very heavily armored creatures. Well destroyed by a stratagem with an orbital laser.
