A comparison of the original and remake of Silent Hill 2 has appeared online — video

No sooner had the latest gameplay video for the Silent Hill 2 remake been released than it was already compared frame-by-frame with the original. The author of the YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits clearly showed the differences and similarities of both versions.

Compared to the 2001 game, the remake has more interaction with the environment. Entire scenes have also been completely reworked. For example, the first meeting and fight with the Lying Figure took place completely differently.

Commentators received the updated version better than past demos of the remake. However, some «cons» were still noted.

Users also put emphasis on character design. In their opinion, James is less like a person broken by loss, and Maria has lost her sexuality. Angela's deteriorated image was also criticized.

In contrast, other fans admitted that they liked both versions of the game. They noted the design of the city, work with sounds and combat animations.
