Geralt's voice actor admitted that he did not expect the success of The Witcher 3

The official «voice» of Geralt of Rivia, Doug Cockle, admitted that the success of The Witcher 3 came as a complete surprise to him. According to him, there were no prerequisites for this.
The actor spoke about this in a recent interview with The Guardian:
Nobody knew or cared really [about the series]. [The Witcher] was a cult game. Until suddenly, it wasn't. Right up until about six months after Witcher 3 came out, I still didn't have a clue how big the game had become.
In addition, Doug Cockle again addressed the topic of Netflix's The Witcher, saying that recently departed Henry Cavill «did a fantastic job.» Now the voice actor is working on a new project in the universe — the anime The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.
