The new Crazy Taxi will be an open-world multiplayer game
The sequel to Crazy Taxi will have multiplayer, and the game itself will become a large-scale open-world project. Developers from Sega spoke about this in a recent interview.
As noted by franchise producer Kenji Kanno, the new game is being created as a completely new Crazy Taxi. The sequel will feature multiplayer for several players, but will «preserve the style of the old game.» The authors also mention a «realistic urban environment» inspired by the US West Coast. It is likely that several modes can be expected in the future game — this is hinted at by the teaser in which the player is driving a police car.
Let us remind you that in February it became known that the continuation of Crazy Taxi would become a full-fledged AAA project from Sega. The release date of the project and platform have not yet been announced.
