Mortal Kombat creator hints at return of mode that hasn't been in the series for 20 years
NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon teased Mortal Kombat fans with another «feature» that could be brought back to the series. This is a popular mode that last appeared in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon in 2006.
We are talking about the «Conquest» mode, which was a kind of world exploration. The player could explore locations, complete side quests, or collect collectibles. The mode debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and last appeared in Armageddon almost 20 years ago.
Recently, the portal Gamerant remembered «Conquest», and Ed Boon took note of the article. He reposted it to his page and asked fans whether the mode should be brought back. The latter approved the idea en masse.
