«Beautiful and technically flawless»: critics publish reviews of Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Dragon Age: The Veilguard refreshes and revitalizes a legendary series that was going through some hard times in its mid-life, and leaves no doubt that it deserves its place in the RPG pantheon… Exciting combat, a fantastic cast of allies with their own compelling storylines, top-notch cinematics, and touching, multi-faceted characters are the wings on which this triumphant dragon soars.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is an accessible, large-scale action-oriented RPG that feels like a true conclusion to everything the franchise has come to be. The book isn't over, but an important chapter has been closed. While Dragon Age: The Veilguard is certainly a departure from its predecessors and takes lessons learned from Mass Effect into account, there's a lot to love about it.

It's technically solid and a very pretty game, but it lacks flair, and I feel like Veilguard will have a hard time standing out in a world of great RPGs released this year.

After 100 hours and three playthroughs of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, I feel like the decade-old wait has been worth it, and I'm happy with the results.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard feels like BioWare is playing it safe. While it does a great job of what it does best, like a great cast and strong interpersonal relationships, it feels dated in terms of gameplay.
