First Review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard Praises the “Best Battle System in BioWare History”
The reviews for Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released in a few hours, but an excerpt from one review has already appeared online. Noisy Pixel published an early review, giving the game a score of 8.5.
In the review, writer Colin Buchanan highlighted the game's fresh take on the series, the cast, the story, and especially the combat system. The RPG aspects were noted as a downside, although specific details were not provided.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard may have hit a few big stumbles along its path to release, but ultimately manages to deliver an innovative and fully-realized take on the series' world, exploration, and combat. The role-playing aspect has taken a minor hit in the process, but the game still boasts one of the best casts its studio has ever created, an engaging plot, and answers to many long-held questions, in addition to the best battle system in BioWare history.
Reddit users noted that Noisy Pixel also awarded Star Wars Outlaws an 8 and Cities: Skylines 2 a 9, suggesting the overall average for the new Dragon Age might end up slightly lower.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released on October 31. It was also recently confirmed that the game will not feature Denuvo protection.
