Valve Starts Giving Away Half-Life 2 For Free
In honor of the 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2, Valve launched a free giveaway of the shooter. In addition, the game received a large update weighing 4 GB with various improvements and additional content.
The anniversary version now includes Half-Life 2: Episode One and Episode Two, which can be found in the main menu. Half-Life 2: Lost Coast was also integrated into the base game. In addition, the patch added several improvements and new content:
- About 3.5 hours of developer commentary;
- Steam Workshop support;
- Graphical improvements such as radial fog, fixed lighting and reflections, high detail;
- Bug fixes such as stuck birds and a crash at the Channels level;
- Scalable interface for high resolution;
- New font;
- Achievements from Episode One and Episode Two;
- Numerous fixes for some maps.
