The fifth chapter of the Half-Life: Blue Shift remake based on Black Mesa has been released

The celebration of the 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2 continues — the HECU Collective team has released the fifth chapter of the fan remake of Half-Life: Blue Shift, made on the basis of Black Mesa. The new episode Focal Point will send players to the world of Xen.

Half-Life: Blue Shift is an addition to the main game, in which you can see the events in Black Mesa through the eyes of Gordon Freeman's friend — security guard Barney Calhoun. Like a physicist with a crowbar, the main character will have to get out of the captured laboratory, along the way looking into the parallel world of Xen and helping out scientists. There are eight chapters in the game.

The fan remake of Black Mesa: Blue Shift recreates the original game on a new engine, with advanced graphics, a new soundtrack, puzzles and gameplay. You can try out the classics in a modern wrapper at this link or in the Steam Workshop (will appear a little later).

Earlier, Valve shared concept art and gameplay snippets from the cancelled Half-Life 2: Episode Three. According to the developers, the sequel was not released due to a lack of ideas. Also, until November 18, you can pick up Half-Life 2 with all DLC for free on Steam.
