S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Includes a Throwback Easter Egg from the Original Game
The developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl have included a nod to a famous Easter egg from Shadow of Chernobyl. Eagle-eyed players can find it in the Wild Territory location.
Specifically, a skeleton holding a crowbar can be found within a tunnel. This is a reference to the deceased rookie stalker, Freeman—an obvious nod to Gordon Freeman from Half-Life.
Further discoveries include a campfire with a sword, referencing the Dark Souls series.
Another Easter egg alludes to the Back to the Future movies.
Finally, players have also found a reference to a scene from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
As a reminder, recent screenshots showcased the significant visual changes to the Dark Valley area in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, compared to its appearance in the 2007 original game. Furthermore, the developers have announced the first update for the game, which will improve performance and fix a number of bugs. This patch is expected to be released for PC and Xbox Series X/S before December 1st.
