Baldur's Gate 3 Has a Secret Message From the Developers, Some Fans Are Sure

We've already written about many amazing discoveries made by players in Baldur's Gate 3. Recently, fans of the fantasy RPG from Larian Studios found a hint of an encrypted message that could be hidden in the spell icons.

One Reddit user with the nickname samuelazers noticed that almost all the spell icons on the panel have three dots. He suggested that this could be some kind of code, the solution to which would reveal a secret message. Considering how many secrets are hidden in Baldur's Gate, the theory seems plausible.

The post caused a great stir in the community and collected over 4 thousand upvotes on Reddit. The comments expressed a well-founded guess that the number «3» is magical in many fantasy universes, which is why almost all the spell icons received three dots. Some suggested that this was just a prank from the artist, who decided to make fans look for meaning where there is none. Redditors even joked that the dots could act as a «code crutch», like the coconut image in Team Fortress 2, the removal of which breaks the game.

There is indeed an obvious system in the spell icons — only three dots appear everywhere, not one or two. Perhaps Larian Studios will someday tell if there is some secret behind this.
