Split Fiction Previews Released — Action Games From It Takes Two Creators

Reputable gaming journalists have published a preview of the cooperative Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios, creators of the successful It Takes Two. Judging by the reviews, fans of the studio's previous hit are in for something outstanding.
According to the plot, players need to act as two writers, one of whom specializes in science fiction, and the other in fantasy. As a result, both end up in a simulation of their worlds, from which they will have to get out together.
Eurogamer dubbed the game "a bottle of fiery tabasco sauce, mixed with a hefty dose of cayenne pepper and topped off with a generous portion of scotch bonnet chilli flakes." According to the reviewer, Split Fiction was the studio's next step, turning out to be a more complex game with a variety of mechanics, some of which will be even more shocking than the sad episode with the elephant from It Takes Two.
Ultimately, even after spending such a short time with it, it's clear that Split Fiction is shaping up to be something special. At a time when it can often be hard to get a game to stand out from the crowd — especially when it comes to something new and unfamiliar — I have no doubt that this one will do just that.
TechRadar described the co-op action as an "unhinged split-screen co-op adventure for the ages" with a variety of genres, interesting puzzles and fantasy worlds inspired by games like the Metroid series, Sonic the Hedgehog: Spinball and even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time. And GamesRadar noted the game's high stakes on creativity, describing unusual missions like one in which you have to turn into a pair of pigs and end up as sausages for a picnic, jumping on a table.
Split Fiction is so far looking to be a great follow-up to It Takes Two, one that really ups the scale and spectacle for co-op action, and I'm certainly down for that.
Split Fiction is set to release on March 6 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S.
