Star Wars Artist Masterfully Remasters Iconic Warcraft 3 Cinematic Using the Same Program as Blizzard

Recently, professional artist Alireza Akhbariarabani released a video of his own remaster of the Warcraft 3 opening cinematic. To achieve this, he utilized the program 3ds Max.

Remaster:

Original:

The Warcraft 3 opening cinematic was a defining moment for me. When I first saw it , I was captivated by its storytelling, atmosphere, and artistry. It left such a lasting impression that I dreamed of one day remastering it myself. I finally started that journey, not just as a tribute to the incredibly talented team behind the original ,but as a way to challenge myself. And what made this even more special? I used 3ds Max, the very same software Blizzard used to create this legendary cinematic.

While I know there’s always room for refinement, I focused on striking a balance between quality and efficiency, as this was a side project. More than anything, this was a passion project a way to honor the past while pushing myself forward.

I have deep respect for the artists who originally created this cinematic, and I’m grateful for the inspiration it gave to my generation. Hope you enjoy this remaster as much as I enjoyed working on it!

Alireza Akhbariarabani has a rather impressive background in film. For instance, he contributed to the creation of films and series such as Rebel Moon, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and Willow.

As a reminder, in 2020, Blizzard released Warcraft 3: Reforged, an updated version of the original game. However, the project received scathing reviews from gamers. For example, its average user score on Metacritic is only 0.6.
