First Look at Gameplay of Hopetown, the Spiritual Successor to Disco Elysium

Longdue Games, a studio founded by former employees of ZA/UM, Rockstar Games and Bungie, has presented the first look at the gameplay of the non-linear role-playing game Hopetown. Let us remind you that the project is positioned as a spiritual successor to Disco Elysium.
The studio shared the details back in January. The plot of Hopetown revolves around the main character, a journalist who finds himself in a mining town with a terrible hangover. Struggling with the consequences of yesterday's binge, the player must understand the events taking place and prevent or further inflame a local conflict.
The first screenshot gives a small idea of the future gameplay. The player will also have several archetypes with their own unique phrases that move the narrative along one line or another. For example, in a conversation with an old woman feeding pigeons, you can act like a gonzo journalist and answer the following: "Yeah, feed the masses! So let it be done. EAT UP, SKY RATS! (Take the bread)». Or choose the line of Noblesse N'oblige: «I'd rather lick the bin [knock the bread from her hands]».
The developers from Longdue Games also intend to launch a fundraiser on Kickstarter. The project page has already appeared on the platform. The game does not yet have a release date.
This is not the only «heir» of Disco Elysium. Last year, two more studios were opened — Dark Math Games and Summer Eternal, which are working on their own psychological RPGs.
