By default, everything around the player's icon is hidden in fog, so many locations are not visible on the map at the beginning of the game. To fully unlock the map in Red Dead Redemption, it takes at least 5-6 hours of real time. That's why having the full map handy, which can be downloaded from the VGTimes.ru file archive, is useful.
The game world turned out to be very large, covering 5 major regions:
To help players navigate, Rockstar Games even developed a companion app for mobile phones. In it, players can track their character's current location, as well as explore in-game notes in the journal. Of course, the map is also available in the game menu, but those with powerful tablets and phones will find the app useful.
Next, let's look at some of the most interesting towns, villages, and other settlements that the main characters of Red Dead Redemption 2 will visit. To find them, you can refer to the map above, but be prepared that some locations may be locked until you progress further along the story line.
Valentine, New Hampshire: A small town that attracts a variety of people. Among them are traders, farmers, cowboys, gamblers, criminals, prostitutes. Be ready for trouble!
Annesburg: Coal mining is a dangerous business, especially considering the pay in Annesburg and the especially high mortality rate among workers.
Saint Denis, Louisiana: This settlement is on a key trade route that thousands of different people follow. However, it could be safer.
Mount Hagen, Massachusetts: A snowy town located near the strategically important Beartooth Beck and Dakota River. The choice of location couldn't have been accidental.
Rhodes: At first glance, it's a peaceful town, but a closer look reveals a brutal feud between two plantation families. Rest assured, you will definitely become involved in their numerous intrigues and provocations.
Strawberry: The new mayor is determined to turn Strawberry into a mecca for tourists. The locals, however, don't really support their new official's liberal conclusions. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Lagras: You'll find this settlement in the Bayou Swamps. People here lead simple lives and try to stay out of trouble, which occasionally comes their way from wandering bandits.
Of course, the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is filled with many other interesting locations. As always, Rockstar Games has packed the environment with various places and even secrets.
For example, here and there, you can find Dinosaur Bones, Dreamcatchers, and Cigarette Cards.
