Enshrouded is a new survival game with building and crafting elements, painfully reminiscent of Valheim. Despite this, it features its unique mechanics and quirks that can diversify gameplay. In this guide, we will tell you where to find, how to gather, and craft all resources in Enshrouded.
At the beginning of your journey, you'll find yourself in the ruins of Longkeep. In the center of the street, there's a well from which you can draw water in unlimited amounts. A single stack holds 100 units of water.
Later, you'll rescue a Carpenter, who can create additional wells at your base.
Logs are obtained by chopping down trees. You can chop trees with bare hands or with regular weapons, such as clubs or swords. However, the most efficient method is using a lumberjack's axe. You can craft the tool by hand from the beginning of the game, and an upgraded version will be available from the Blacksmith.
Resin is a by-product that you'll get from logging. Just chop down a few trees to obtain it.
Initially, stones can be gathered in the open world by simply picking them up from the ground. Later on, it's recommended to create a stone pickaxe in the manual item crafting menu. With it, you can mine stones from rock formations and by interacting with the ground.
Shrouded Wood is obtained from regular trees that grow in dense fog (areas covered by the Shroud). Any weapon will do, but the lumberjack's axe is the best tool for the job.
This resource can be found after defeating enemies in areas affected by the Shroud. Mostly, these are small monsters with clubs and stone shields.
First, find plant fiber, then proceed to the manual item crafting menu and select the corresponding option.
The resource is mainly obtained by inspecting small bushes and during tree chopping. Plant fiber can also be found in caches and chests.
Like plant fiber, twigs are mostly farmed by collecting small bushes. There's also a chance to get this resource while chopping down trees.
Use the item crafting menu at the Blacksmith to craft a stone pickaxe. After that, you can use it on stones and soil. When mining soil, there is a chance to obtain soil.
Can only be obtained in a charcoal kiln. You need to place a certain amount of logs and soil in the kiln to get 15 units of charcoal:
It also takes time to produce the resource (5 minutes).
Players can find tar both in the open world (mainly in Shrouded areas) and create it themselves in a charcoal kiln. To craft 20 units, you will need the following resources:
Unlike tar, wood acid is only created in a charcoal kiln. The recipe unlocks when you gather the necessary resources:
A common resource that appears randomly in the open world and drops from enemies. Torn fabric will also appear in your inventory if you dismantle any piece of clothing or armor.
Another resource that can be found only in the open world. Inspect ruins and caches scattered throughout the open world. Often, scrap metal drops from defeated enemies.
For this, you will have to turn to the Blacksmith in your camp. Scrap metal is needed to craft nails.
Build a forge in the shelter and gather the following resources to get 1 metal sheet:
Often, animal fur and bones can be found in the open world and from defeated opponents. But the easiest way to obtain these resources is through hunting. Any animals, from rabbits to wolves, will do.
Traveling through the open world, you may come across beehives. Sometimes the bees themselves can be a clue to the location of hives — they gather in a large swarm and can deal serious damage to the character. Simply destroy the hive and collect the resources.
Mycelium is harvested from special mushrooms in the Shroud. They are easy to find — just look for their characteristic glow. Use any weapon to get rid of the mushroom, after which you can pick up the resource.
Unlike other resources, the Shroud Core drops only after killing mini-bosses that dwell in wells. For example, we found the first core while on the mission Purify the Elixir Well.
In each such well, you will encounter a strong opponent. As soon as you defeat the enemy, you can search its remains. In addition to other trophies, you will also find the Shroud Core here.
Flint can appear in the open world simply on the ground, and you can also find deposits of this resource. They look like clusters of stones and are usually found in meadows. To break the deposits, use any pickaxe.
This resource can be found in large quantities while exploring towers in the story. Just break large ceramic and iron vessels, which often contain loot.
Bone meal can also be ground from ordinary bones, dropping from skeletons and various animals, such as wolves. For this, you will need to craft and build a millstone at your base (grinding stones), which becomes available after finding and placing an Alchemist.
In the early stages of the game, such vegetation can be found on farms and in ruined cities. For example, you will find several beds in Woodgard, located west of the spire. And a bit lower, you will encounter the village of Peaceful Acres, planted with crops.
To find this resource, head to areas with fog and break a few large mushrooms. You can also destroy large plants with leaves.
Salt is required by Enshrouded players for upgrading the Flame Altar and creating various items. However, the quest to obtain this resource can only be unlocked after completing the story mission The Hunter Becomes the Hunted. In it, players need to find an ancient crypt and rescue the Hunter.
Once you place the character at your base, talk to them and activate the quest. Now head towards the Alchemist's crypt. South of the remains of Woodgard city, there is a breach with the Shroud — the area will be marked on your map.
At the bottom, you will find the entrance to a salt mine. Use a pickaxe on the walls to mine the valuable resource.
Clay can be found at later stages of the game when you reach a new forest location. You must find Fort Kelvin on the map. This small town is surrounded by mountains, so you will need to explore the area and find a cave-passage to the new location. Once there, clay will be scattered virtually everywhere — use a pickaxe to obtain the resource.
You will need mint mushroom flesh at the later stages of Enshrouded. This material is used for dyeing fabric green. Such mushrooms can be found in the eastern part of the global map, northeast from the Ancient Spire on the Lower Meadows. It is worth noting that it only grows in areas with the Shroud. High mushrooms yield much more of this resource, but they are less common.
We have dedicated a separate guide to this resource. In it, you will find not only the detailed location of amber but also useful tips on mining and using it.
Located in the sand in the Thicket Wastelands biome, which can be accessed at levels 4-5 of the Flame. It is hidden in large quantities in caves, but these yellowish deposits can also be found in open areas.
Grows in the desert biome as small red bushes. Always in small quantities, so collect them whenever you see them. Needed for various upgrades, including enhancing the Flame. Easiest to propagate in the Nursery than to collect in the wild.
Most often found in the caves of the desert biome. These clumpy growths are easy to spot, and a single deposit can yield 30-70 ore if you have a good pickaxe.
In the Thicket Wastelands, you can find deposits of dark blue color. Located both in open areas and in the Shroud in caves.
This is a bright green bush without flowers. Found in large quantities in the Nomad Highlands in the northeast of the world map.
In the Nomad Highlands, look for a bush with sharp and thick leaves. Cutting it down with an axe will yield several aloe leaves.
Bushes of this plant can be found in the third biome, traveling through the open world. They look like tall bushes with juicy red fruits.
These fruits can be chopped from palms in the desert biome. Usually, they come in stacks of four, so a small forest will be enough to gather the necessary amount.
