Where are the save files located in Valheim

To find the location of the save files, you need to follow this path:

  1. Go to the C:/ section.
  2. Open the Users folder.
  3. Enter the section with the username of the system, for example, admin.
  4. Open the AppData folder.
  5. Go to the LocalLow section.
  6. Enter the IronGate folder.
  7. Open the Valheim folder.

How to display hidden folders if the AppData section does not appear

Each system uses a unique method to display hidden folders and files.

Windows 10

  1. Press the key combination with the English layout Win+E to open Explorer or open any folder on the computer.
  2. Go to the View section at the top of the folder.
  3. Check the box in the Hidden items field.

Windows 8.1

  1. Open any folder on the computer.
  2. Go to the view section at the top of the folder.
  3. Click on Options in the upper right part of the folder and select Change folder and search options.
  4. In the folder options, go to the View tab.
  5. Scroll all the way down and in the Hidden files and folders section select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
  6. Click Apply to save the changes.

Windows 7

  1. Click the Start button and select the Control Panel.
  2. Go to the Appearance and Personalization section or switch the view in the Category to Large icons.
  3. Select Folder Options.
  4. Switch to the View tab in the new window and scroll the switcher down in the Advanced settings section until you find the Hidden files and folders item
  5. Select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
  6. Click Apply to save the changes.
