Full Walkthrough of Still Wakes the Deep: How to Get All Achievements
Still Wakes the Deep is a first-person horror game where the main character finds themselves on an oil platform by chance. Besides the harsh conditions, we witness paranormal situations and try to survive while saving new comrades. In this guide, we will detail how to complete the game, get all achievements, and solve puzzles.
Note: It is impossible to get all achievements in one playthrough, so focus on the story and finding secret items. In the first playthrough, try not to use running frequently to get the achievement «Walking Simulator». In the second playthrough, you will look for ways to kill the main character and complete the remaining tasks.
Introduction
Turn on the radio and leave the cabin. Visit Campbell's neighboring room (107), then go down the stairs to inspect O'Connor's (110) and Henderson's (111) cabins. Approach Finley on the ladder to start a dialogue.
Go to the shower room and turn off the light near the entrance. Wait there for a few minutes to get the achievement «Voyeur». After that, visit cabins 104 (Gibson and Dobby) and 106 (Adair). Go down using the stairs near the map of the living quarters. Turn right to reach the break room and turn on the TV, then head to the dining room on the other side.
In the dining room, talk to the crew (3 dialogues) before starting a conversation with the cook to later unlock the achievement «Social Butterfly». After the cutscene, return to the corridor and turn right. Turn the valve on the door and go out onto the deck.
Deck
Go down the stairs and talk to the welder. Reach the yellow crane where there will be a ladder to descend. To hold onto the ladder, you need to hold RMB. While descending, you can release this button to speed up the action. After passing the welder, turn to the fenced area with a blue door and go down even further.
After opening the next door, talk to the workers in yellow and white helmets. A bit further, there will be another dialogue through the barrier. After passing the linear corridor, a cutscene will start, and the hero will be given a screwdriver. If you talked to all the characters, you will now get the achievement «Social Butterfly». Repair the panel, enter the elevator, and press the up arrow.
After exiting the elevator, go up to the red booth where a cutscene will start, after which the hero will end up on the other side. Head to the helipad without deviating from the main path. After the cutscene, the hero will find themselves in a small room, and you will get the story achievement «Nauseating Silence».
Leave the room and go up the stairs. After the dialogue, Brody will indicate a new direction. Descend, pull the lever, then return and activate the device. After completing the quest, a gate with a yellow sign above it will open on the right. Descend under the platform.
Bottom of the Platform
Move straight ahead, jumping over dangerous areas marked with yellow paint. Jump onto a box and continue until a cutscene starts. Keep going, pick the lock with a screwdriver, and cross to the other side via a beam. When the character loses balance, hold LMB to get up. Open the next door and turn the valve to stop the fire. Pull the lever and climb higher. Walk along the wall and jump to the ladder by holding RMB. You can do this without speeding up. If you lose balance, hold LMB without releasing the first button, otherwise, the hero will fall. Pass the last obstacle and enter the engineering section.
Support C
Turn left and go down the stairs. Climb across the gap to reach the other side, then climb higher, orienting yourself by the yellow beams. Pick up the flashlight lying on the box to open the way further. Turn right and move through the narrow corridor.
At the dead end, turn left to the ladder. Keep moving, crouching under obstacles. Use the screwdriver to open the vent highlighted in yellow metal. Once out, find the helmet that can be picked up. Such items will help distract monsters, and for throwing 50 items, you can get the achievement What a Mess?!. Keep moving, opening doors until a cutscene starts.
After the conversation, go down the stairs opposite Finley. On the other side of the room, there will be a ladder going up. To the right will be a descent with a sign EXIT. As you walk down the corridor, a ladder will lower near you. At the top, it will be empty except for an interactive helmet. Close the valve to shut off the steam supply. Nearby will be a ladder with the second valve. The last valve is accessed by a ladder to the left of the blocked pipe.
After closing all the valves, you can safely move forward. Crawl under the debris and turn right, where there will be a lever activating the next ladder. Climb up the yellow railings and carefully pass the narrow section by pressing your back against the wall. Upon reaching the new location, it's better to turn off the flashlight. The enemy won't attack here, but the flickering will be very distracting. Follow the yellow markers until you reach the flooded passage. If you drown there, you will get the achievement «Cerebral Hypoxia». To speed up while swimming, hold Shift.
At the end of the corridor, there will be a ladder leading to the water tanks. Climb into one of them through the airlock. Move to the adjacent «room» through a narrow passage and head to the ladder. Cross to the other side and climb the regular ladder, ignoring the yellow one, until you reach the door to the living quarters. Entering the door, you will get the story achievement «Breathe In, Breathe Out».
Residential Section
Use the heater on the floor to warm up. After this, the adjacent door to the next room will open. Turn right to reach the room with the ringing phone, which you need to answer. Head in the opposite direction and go up to the next floor. Turn right and enter the lounge. Approach the glowing door and try to open it to trigger a cutscene. Turn around and walk past the pool table to the slightly open door.
After reaching the dining room, head to the kitchen to talk to Roy. Upon leaving the kitchen, turn right and squeeze through the small gap. Descend the stairs, where your path will be blocked, but a passage will open to the right. Unscrew the vent at the bottom left of the room to enter the next area. Calmly walk through the laundry room to the next door, where a monster will attack Kaz. Follow the signs to the exit on the left side.
Exit to Lifeboats
Walk along the narrow platform, holding LMB when the character loses balance. After turning past the closed airlock, descend the stairs, following the yellow spilled paint. When Kaz loses balance, press Space to survive. You can only jump to the next ladder with a running start, pressing RMB and LMB to hold on.
To lower the ladder, press the lever near this spot. The first lifeboat will be broken, head to the next one. To release it, you need to remove two yellow locking pins and pull the lever. After that, climb the ladder until the phone rings. Rennick will explain how to open locked doors.
After climbing up, turn right to pick up the fire extinguisher on the wall and extinguish the flames. During the process, you will unlock the story achievement «0451 by Fahrenheit». Drop the fire extinguisher and climb higher. Upon opening the door, a phone will ring on the opposite wall. After the dialogue, climb to the roof and re-enter the residential section.
Service Rooms
Move the box away from the door and turn left. Around the corner, there will be a vent that can be opened with a screwdriver. In the next room, climb under the ceiling and move through the vent. Upon entering the laundry room, you need to avoid the monster. Peek around the corner to unlock the achievement «Diagonally». You can either throw an item to distract the enemy or run in a circle. Throw an item at the monster to unlock the achievement «Targeted Strike». You need to return to Roy in the kitchen; the enemy won't follow you through the narrow passage.
You can reach Roy through the vent in the refrigerator. After the dialogue, head to the exit to the deck. Turn left and descend the broken ladder. Pass through the green container, then descend two more ladders while Rennick talks on the radio. Go right to turn off the electricity and open your way forward. Jump down and examine the body nearby. Keep moving until a cutscene starts.
Carefully move from one cover to another, guided by the yellow paint and checking the monster's location. Along the way, you will encounter another body in a blue jumpsuit. Climb into the tilted green container and wait for the monster to move away so you can safely run through the next stage. It's best to jump out with a running start to get further when the mutant chases you. Entering the green container will trigger a cutscene, after which you can move on. Climb into the room and open the ventilation. Opposite it, there will be another corpse to examine.
Move to the next green container and continue straight until a dialogue with Innes begins. To activate the freight elevator, turn left and go to the dead end. Nearby, there will be a hole in the fence through which you can crawl to the lift control panel. Activate it and immediately run to the elevator. After ascending, turn right and walk along the wall, then climb up to the helicopter.
After the cutscene, you will unlock the story achievement «Nothing Lasts Forever». Descend the stairs and head to Rennick's booth, where the phone is ringing. After the conversation, exit through the other door and return to answer the next call. Now you can descend the stairs and enter the administration door.
Administration
Answer the call from the administration room, then visit the adjacent room where the fire extinguisher is located. After extinguishing the flames, descend the stairs and move the cabinet. The radio with the weather forecast will turn on in the room. Listening to everything (about 3 minutes) will earn you the achievement «Most Important».
As you move further down the corridors, a mutated Rennick will attack Kaz. Run away from him, jumping over two obstacles. Then turn right to the far left door, from where you can descend to the lower floor. Next, run to the open door and crawl under the debris. Part of the room will collapse, and Rennick will stop chasing you.
While the monster is breaking the wall, stand to the right of the box and move it. Run to the nearest door, then follow the signs. When Rennick appears in front of you, run back to trigger the floor's collapse. Keep running straight until you see an open room on the left. Passing through the cabinets, the monster will run away, so you can immediately open the door and enter the adjacent kitchen. From there, move straight through the connecting openings until you reach the door with a lock. Hack it and run straight to the exit on the right side.
Upon exiting outside, you will unlock the story achievement «I Am the King Here». Reaching the helicopter, you need to jump onto it and grab the windows by holding RMB. While climbing up, hold LMB to avoid falling. Descend lower through the scaffolding, then turn left and move the heavy box. Open the door, answer the phone, then descend lower through the hatch.
Unlock the lock on the right door, push the cart, and go through the blue container. Descend into the dark room and look for the ladder on the left to climb up and turn off the electricity. A gas leak will start a little further. The necessary valve is behind the broken pipe. After closing it, move the container and enter the engineering section.
Engineering Section
Turn left and crawl under the debris to get to the control room. Activate the mechanism and return, then move straight ahead. Try not to scatter objects and remember the safe points, they will be needed later. Upon reaching the opposite door, a cutscene will begin. Close the valve to move further. Crawl through the ventilation openings and open the door to the next room. It is safe there, you can calmly reach the other side.
In the next room, turn right and climb the ladder. After passing the destroyed section, descend and turn off the valve. Move further until you enter the room with the generator. A monster will appear, from which you need to hide. Pick up and throw objects in the opposite direction so that it does not catch up with you, gradually moving crouched through the tunnels. Upon reaching the ladder, you can climb up and immediately run to the right. Jumping into the cabin, the monster will stop chasing you.
In the control room, you need to activate the switches in the correct sequence. To do this, press them in the following order:
- Engineering;
- Processing;
- Administration;
- Deck;
- Accommodation.
After the cutscene, pick up the key from the panel behind you and open the ventilation. Insert the key into the generator and turn it on. Completing the task will unlock the story achievement «Ignition». The noise will bring back the monster, and you need to return to the engineering room. Move the same way, throwing objects in the opposite direction. At some point, the monster will run after you, just keep running.
Reach the panel and activate the mechanism. Break the lock on the door, then run to the next room. On the right, a ventilation will open where you can hide and move further. Distract the monster and run to the engineering room. The blockage through which you entered will collapse, and Adair will stop chasing Kaz. After restarting the system, the story achievement Belly of the Beast will unlock.
Approach the neighboring door and try to open it. The phone will ring, you need to answer it, after which you can move further. Descend the stairs and open the exit to the pontoons.
Support A
Pick up the fire extinguisher on the right and extinguish the flames. Use the ladder to descend lower. Walking along the pipe, press Space, so Kaz will jump to the next ledge. Lower the counterweight and use it as a platform to get to the other side. Descending lower, repeat the same with the counterweight. Before jumping onto the suspended load in the center, climb the ladder and examine the corpse.
Jump onto the central platform and jump further onto the improvised ladder. Hold LMB to cling onto the structure. Descend and turn off the valve to extinguish the flame. Descend even lower and press the button. The fuses will blow, and you will need to cross to the other side to fix the device. On your way back, press LMB by the wall to hold on. Lower the counterweight twice and jump onto it. Even if you fail, the fall will not be fatal.
To activate the first winch, remove the locking pin and pull the lever. Descend into the water and dive to swim under the debris. Reach the door and move to the next location. Turn the valve to open the mechanism's flaps. Entering there, the water will start to rise. To swim faster, hold Shift.
Once out, climb the ladder and inspect the closed door. Open the next door and pull the lever before jumping back into the water. Dive and move with the current until you see a ladder. Moving a bit further, the pipes will burst and the room will start flooding. Swim to the top, orienting by the yellow beams, and try not to stay underwater for long. Surfacing, open the door to the next location.
Facing the semi-destroyed wall, dive to the bottom to swim under the debris. Visibility will be poor, so approach carefully. Climb the ladder and open the next door. Walking through the long corridor, you will meet O'Connor, who will attack. Quickly press LMB to break free.
Reaching the next room, activate the winch by removing the locking pin and pulling the lever. Circumvent the room and climb the ladder to call the elevator. Once inside, press the button and look around. When the elevator arrives, the story achievement «Surfacing» will unlock. Open the door in front of you.
Residential Block 2
Reach the heater near the next door. Contact Roy by phone and wait for the conversation to end. When you open the door to the outside, the phone will ring, and you need to answer it. Once outside, descend, moving along the left wall. Pass under the «roots» to the other side of the platform.
Climb the crane using the ladders. Brody will meet you and give a new task. Exiting the cabin, turn right and jump over the broken section.
Processing Block
Turn left and enter the cabin, from which you can exit through the ventilation. Move along the walls, pressing «Space» if the platform starts to collapse. Get into the elevator and press the down arrow. A cutscene will activate, and a monster will attack Kaz. When it leaves, climb up and turn right at the fork. This way, you will reach the yellow button that activates the siren and briefly distracts the enemy.
Run straight to the opposite wall. Walking along a small ledge, you will reach a valve, which, when turned, opens the way forward. Return back and run further if the monster is far away. If it's nearby, crouch and turn left. Throw objects to distract the monster, then you can safely run to the next point.
Turn the valve and watch the cutscene. Descend lower and run to the arrow. A sound siren will activate, attracting the monster. Open the door and run along the right edge, jumping at the cliff. Then run through the center, jumping over beams. Quickly pick the lock and run along the left side. At the end, you need to jump and press RMB to grab on. Crawl under the blocked doorway to reach the safe zone. Throw the torch and kill the monster. The arrow will catch fire, and you will receive the story achievement Light in the Darkness.
Run back, jumping over obstacles and pits. A cutscene will start, after which you will find yourself under the platform. Walk along the beam by the wall and open the locked door to move forward. After this, climb the ladder to the very top and move straight. Circumvent the boxes and grab onto the beams. When Kaz loses balance, hold LMB and RMB to avoid falling. Once on the other side, descend the ladder and look around. Then head to the engineering block.
Engineering Block 2
Walk through the linear corridor until a cutscene starts. After this, dive to swim under the debris until you reach a ladder. Climbing up, turn right and jump into the water. Descend to the bottom and hold RMB to grab onto the ledges. This way, you can reach the end of the corridor despite the strong current. Press Space when Kaz can't reach the next hold.
Move further, taking breaks in air pockets to avoid suffocation. Climb higher using ladders and beams, and pass through the ventilation. In the next room, turn right and dive. Follow the yellow wire to avoid getting lost. The last dive will be long, so swim straight without delay.
Emerging from the water, jump onto the ledge right in front of you. Another pipe will burst, and flooding will begin. You can either climb up yourself or wait for the water and surface at the exit. After this, open the door to the residential block.
Residential Block 3
As soon as you enter the room, the story achievement «Water Everywhere» will unlock. Use the heater near the door to move forward. Turn left and pick the lock on the door. Moving a bit further, the phone will ring. You need to go back and answer. Turn right and head to the lounge.
Pass the toilet and climb under the ceiling. Once up, you will find yourself on the third floor. Opposite the floor plan, there will be a ventilation shaft that can be opened. Climb under the ceiling and move through the narrow tunnel until you reach the descent. Jump down and visit the room with the broken door. From there, you can climb under the ceiling again.
Reach the next room and look around. Open the door and wait until the monster passes by, or throw an object to distract it. Move straight to the broken door. Enter the toilet and open the ventilation. In the adjacent room, you need to climb onto the laundry basket and ascend into the shaft.
The monster will follow you, but this is a linear zone, just move forward until you reach the next room. Reach the adjacent flooded room and pass through the ventilation. Enter the last room to get the achievement «Curiosity». On the couch to the right, you can pick up a spoon to unlock the achievement «Favorite Spoon».
Pick up the insulin on the table and go through the next ventilation. Turn right and run to the stairs. Once up, open the door to the roof.
Roof
Upon arriving here for the first time, the achievement 11 on the Beaufort Scale will unlock. Circumvent the boxes and barriers and enter the section where Roy is sitting. After the cutscene, answer the phone call. Exit through the second door and move straight. Seeing the yellow beams, grab onto them to climb higher.
Jump onto the crane's arrow and move straight. Grab onto the yellow beams to proceed further. While walking along the edge of the crane, Kaz may lose balance; hold LMB to stay steady. Crawling forward, the hero may lose balance again; hold LMB to survive. After the final jump, hold LMB and RMB to prevent Kaz from falling. Move a bit further and jump into the control point.
Control Point
Enter the control room where Roper is sitting. A cutscene will start, after which you need to make a phone call. Approach Roper and take the key from his hand, which opens the Ballast Operations panel in the adjacent room. Activate the lever and report your actions over the phone.
After the dialogue, approach the panel and hold the button opposite the yellow monitor. If you interacted with all the devices in the game, the achievement «Electrician Extraordinaire» will unlock. Return to the phone and report your readiness. Exit the room and descend the stairs. Turn right, and after the flooding, just swim with the current.
At the fork, turn left. Opening the door to the stairs will start the flooding. Run to the upper floor, then keep running without stopping. When the water fills the entire section, look for air pockets in the ceiling to replenish oxygen. Keep swimming until you hear a phone ringing. If you answered all the calls, answering the last one will unlock the achievement «On the Line».
Move further down the straight corridor until you reach the current. Climb up the grate and reach the ladder. When Rennick attacks you, just run. If you get caught, quickly press LMB. Once you swim to the ladder, the story achievement «Goodbye, Rennick» will unlock. Climb up and open the door to the next location.
Drill Control Room
Watch the cutscene and run after Finley. Once outside, climb onto the green box to jump over the fence. Run to the elevator and descend the stairs. Keep running after Finley, dodging the boxes. Find her among the fallen debris and pick up the lighter. If you met all the platform employees, you will get the achievement «Dead Man's Chest».
Visiting the last location will unlock the achievement «Song of Fear». Move to the end until Kaz takes out the lighter. Press the necessary buttons to blow up the oil platform. After completing the game, you will receive the achievement «And the Abyss Awakens Again».
How to Get the «Kaz's Destination» Achievement
To do this, you need to die in all available ways. It is not necessary to jump into the water at every ledge; you need to open all available options.
How to Get the «Flying Scotsman» Achievement
In each new location, you need to sprint at least once.
