Mouthwashing — a psychological horror game where players take on the role of a crew member stranded aboard a space cargo ship with a slowly dying captain. Due to starvation and prolonged isolation, not everything will be as it seems at first glance. In this guide, we will describe a detailed walkthrough of the game.

Zero Days to the Crash

Seated in the pilot's chair, you will notice space debris appearing in your path, and the system warns you of a possible collision, suggesting you turn left. However, do not follow its instructions. Instead, turn right.

At the next system warning, to maintain control of the ship, you need to disable the autopilot using the red button. But it is currently locked. Get up from the pilot's chair and head to the locker behind you. Opening it, you will find an employee card, and just above it, an emergency key — take it.

Returning to the control panel, use the emergency key to unlock access to the red button. Press it to disable the autopilot.

After you disable the autopilot, the door behind you will open. Run forward, opening all the doors in your path. There is no exact plan of action in this part of the game, as the corridor ends in a dead end. Eventually, the lights will go out, and everything will end in a collision.

Two Months After the Crash

Now we find ourselves at a table with all the survivors. Next, you will need to check the supplies in the cargo hold, but for this, you will need the captain's scanner.

Where to Find the Password Scanner

After talking to the team, head to the medical bay where Anya is taking care of the captain. To get there, exit through the door in the lounge opposite the recreation area. After a few steps, you will see the doors of the medical bay.

Anya will note the worsening condition of the captain and mention that the scanner might still be in the cabin from where they dragged out the half-dead man. She will also ask you to give him painkillers.

Return through the door in the lounge and turn left. This will lead you to a wide corridor with many doors. Here you can find the cargo hold and the storage room. Run on the right side to find the cabin.

Inside the cabin, most of the room is covered in foam — remnants of the destruction after the crash. However, despite the chaos, you can still open the supply locker on the right side of the room. Although you don't need anything from it at the moment, we recommend checking what is stored there. On the floor to the left, you will notice a code scanner blinking with a purple light.

Access the Cargo Hold

With the scanner in hand, you will need to open the cargo hold. Returning to the large corridor, you will find that the entire team has already gathered. To open the cargo hold door, you need to find out the code. Open your inventory and select the code scanner to activate it. Then, point the mouse cursor at the darkened area on the door, and the scanner will display the code — 4517.

When you enter inside, the screen will suddenly go dark, and a flashback will appear. Memories will start flooding in, taking you back to the moment before the crash.

Seven Days to the Crash

Captain Curly will be sitting in the medical office talking to a girl. Before leaving, Anya will give you a note from Swansea. You need to go talk to the guys.

Talk to Jimmy and Swansea

Exit the medical bay and move right into the large corridor. The utility room is right in front of the cabin, at the end of the corridor on the right. Jimmy will be standing outside, so just approach and talk to him.

Jimmy will mention that there was an incident in the utility room. Go inside, and you will see that Daisuke is stuck in foam, while Swansea is trying to figure out how to free him. The only way to free Daisuke is to open the case with the fire axe using your code scanner.

The fire axe is behind the glass near the door. Use the scanner to get the code — 2609. Enter these numbers on the keypad and take the axe.

Then return to your comrades and use the axe on the foam to free Daisuke. Approach the door where Jimmy is waiting for you. Talk to him, and he will suggest meeting in the cabin. In the corridor, you will notice that it starts getting longer and longer. Eventually, you will find yourself in complete darkness.

Once on an unknown planet, keep walking straight. Finally, the screen will gradually brighten, and eventually, it will become completely white. You will find yourself back on the ship, in the cabin. Talk to Jimmy, and he will suggest completing the testing together.

At the end of the dialogue with Jimmy, you will receive a message from the management. Trying to read it, you will unexpectedly find yourself in a dark room with a faintly glowing flashlight.

Go straight until you find a TV on the floor. Before approaching it, pay attention to the shelves around. Look through them to notice Curly hiding behind them. This will allow you to get the achievement «Find Curly hiding next to the TV».

Interact with the TV and start switching channels using the toggle on the right. Switch channels until you reach the end, and the TV will stop on a strange advertisement.

Two Months After the Crash

Next, you will unexpectedly find yourself in the cargo hold. You and your team will discover that the hold is filled exclusively with boxes of Dragonbreath mouthwash.

Six Days to the Crash

Climb the stairs and enter the main hall on the left. You will be greeted again by all the crew members, but this time they are dressed up, ready to celebrate your birthday. After talking, you will need to bake a cake.

How to Bake a Cake

Everything needed for the cake is in the kitchen, so head there through the right side of the lounge. On the wall next to the machine, there is a recipe book. Press the right arrow to flip through it to the recipe.

Fortunately, there is another machine in the kitchen that will automatically dispense all the necessary products. You just need to enter the correct values. Flip through the recipe book to find the necessary codes for the ingredients. The only thing that is not displayed immediately is the sweetener. However, you can find it using the scanner.

  • Water code — 3142;
  • Gelatin code — 4213;
  • Sweetener code — 2341.

When you get all the ingredients, use the device on the right to combine them. Start with water and gelatin — place them under the two orange tubes, then pull the lever to mix the ingredients.

A cake will appear under the large tube. However, this is not the end, as you need to cover the cake with icing. Take the cake in the center, then place the sweetener and the icing base under the orange tubes. Pull the lever to complete the process and cover the cake. Now bring it to the table.

After the conversation, use the knife to cut it. At this time, the screen will go dark again, and you will find yourself in the present.

Two Months After the Crash

Head to the medical office. The quickest way to get there is to go through the door opposite the lounge area in the living room and continue straight through the hall.

In the medical office, you will find the captain lying on the bed as before. However, before giving him the painkillers, you should first ask Anya if she has already done it or not.

Find Anya

Exit the office and go to the cabin on the left. Inside, you will meet Swansea and Anya. After talking to them, Anya will say that she hasn't given the captain the painkillers yet, despite his condition.

Give Curly the Painkillers

Exit the cabin and head back to the medical office. On the table, you will find the painkillers. Take them and give them to the captain to ease his condition. After successfully taking the pills, the screen will darken.

You will find yourself in a nightmare setting, with Curly sitting at a table in the living room, and a festive cake in front of him. Approach the table and sit opposite the man. He will offer you to eat the cake with him. However, before starting, you will need to find a knife.

Find the Knife

Head to the cabin, where inside you will find an axe stuck in the seat. Take it and return to the main hall. Instead of a cake, the captain now lies on the table. Use the axe on the captain, and after that, the screen will go dark again.

Two Months After the Crash

You need to check on the crew after their rough night with the mouthwash. Exit the cargo hold, and you will find Daisuke lying on the floor.

The man clearly had too much, take the mouthwash from him. With the mouthwash in your inventory, open it and drink it to get the achievement «Use a bottle of Mouthwash».

Head to the living room, where you will find Anya and Swansea. After talking to the girl, she will mention additional medicines that might be stored in the corridor leading to the medical office.

Break the Foam

Approach the dancing Swansea and talk to him. The man will stick an axe into the screen. After this, you will be able to take the axe and continue the mission. Exit the room and head to the end of the corridor, where you will find the same foam vein. Use the axe to get rid of it.

Inside the locker, you will find additional painkillers and a bottle of isopropyl. Take both items. The isopropyl will come in handy later, and the painkillers are needed for the captain.

As soon as you take the medicines, Anya will ask you again to give Curly the painkillers. Enter the medical office and give the captain the pills again.

Six Hours Before the Trial

Upon entering the cabin, approach the red lever and press it to lock the entrance door. Now you need to find several ways to keep the door locked. Turn to the utility locker where you previously found the emergency key. On the right side of the locker door, take the cable, which will help you reinforce the door.

After applying the cable, look to the left of the door and take the iron pipe. Use the pipe to further reinforce the passage. Once you have reinforced the door, Swansea will manage to break through the glass window. He will try to lift the door handle, but at this moment the screen will go dark.

Two Days Before the Crash

You will find yourself in the living room near Anya. Talk to the girl, after which the scene will change.

Four Months After the Crash

When you try to proceed to the living room, Daisuke will call you for help. Talk to him, and then head to the medical office. There you will find Anya, and it seems she has locked herself in the room. You need to get inside through the utility compartment.

Get into the Utility Compartment

Go down to the utility room in the large corridor. Swansea will be sitting right behind the door. After talking to him, he will make it clear that he doesn't want you to go inside, and the scene will change.

Eight Hours Before the Trial. How to Find the Disinfectant

Daisuke will get injured. Go down to the cargo hold door. Here you will see a tombstone. Open your inventory and turn on the code scanner. With the code scanner on, the entrance to the room will open.

Descend the steps until you come across a pile of boxes. In this scene, it is important to make as little noise as possible. Do not run and proceed a few meters at a time to avoid attracting attention. Use the code scanner to see where the monster is at the moment.

You need to find the Polly statue holding the mouthwash needed as a disinfectant. Slowly make your way to the statue, stopping whenever the monster approaches. Take your time and avoid attracting attention. The best way to reach the statue is to find the collapsed part of the bridge and go around it on the left.

Three Months After the Crash. How to Knock Out Swansea

Swansea is not letting the hero into the utility room, so he has a plan to knock the man out. To do this, you need to get Swansea to drink a special non-alcoholic cocktail.

Head to the living room to create your non-alcoholic cocktail. However, before you start, pay attention to the broken Polly statue lying on the ground, emitting eerie sounds. To the left of the broken parts of the statue, you can find Jimmy's employee card. Taking it will earn you the achievement «Find Jimmy's employee card».

Scroll through the recipe book to the last pages to find the one you need. However, this time you will need to change the ingredients by adding mouthwash and isopropyl alcohol. Place the mouthwash and isopropyl alcohol in the mixer in the kitchen. Then pull the lever on the right side to create the base for the drink.

After you prepare the base for the drink, it still won't be ready as you need a sweetener. Talk to Daisuke, then go to the beds in the left corner where Daisuke and Jimmy used to sleep. In Daisuke's bed, you will notice a sweetener sticking out from under the blanket. Approach the mixer to place the base and the sweetener inside, finishing the drink.

One Day Before the Crash. Find the Gun

Once in the medical office, you will immediately be given the task of finding a weapon. Go down to the cabin where you will find Anya. After talking to her, you will learn that she has hidden a case with a gun. As soon as you decide to leave the cabin, the screen will go dark.

Six Hours Before the Trial

The mouthwash you applied to Daisuke turns out to be useless. Seeing the situation worsen, Swansea decides to take radical measures — to end Daisuke's suffering once and for all.

Retrieve the Gun

Go down to the cabin and open the locker to take the password scanner, then scan the dark area at the bottom of the locker. This will allow you to learn the password for the gun case — 739.

Go upstairs and enter the medical office. Here you will encounter a shocking scene: the corpse of your former friend. Between the bodies lies the case — enter the code and take the weapon.

Upon leaving the room, Swansea will attack you.

Zero Days Before the Crash

Go straight and talk to a distressed Anya. Exit the medical office and go down to the cabin. Near the door, you will meet Jimmy. Talk to him, and after your dialogue, an alarm will sound.

Approach the cabin door to talk to Jimmy again.

One Hour Before the Trial

You need to take Curly to the living room. When you enter the room, you will be met with a disturbing scene: all the capable crew members are sitting at the table. Place Curly there as well.

You will need to cut Curly like a cake using the knife lying on the table. After giving a speech, start cutting the «cake», which is, of course, a symbolic gesture highlighting the madness and distorted reality of what is happening.

The Weight of Responsibility

Run forward to the medical office and go inside. In the room, you will find that all paths are blocked except for a hatch in the ground. Next to it is a hanging key from the utility room. Approach the hatch, take the key, and jump down.

Upon landing, you will find yourself in the ventilation ducts. Move forward, trying not to make any noise, when you suddenly notice Daisuke's figure disappearing into the darkness.

Reaching the end of the passage, you will find a note saying «No way back». Do not turn around under any circumstances, as it will teleport you back to the note. Instead, use the S key to back up. When you reach another vent with light, turn to face it and continue backing up.

Reaching the very end, you will find yourself in the ship's corridor. Go straight and head downstairs.

Enter the vent surrounded by numerous axes. This is the point where it can get confusing, so use the following tips:

  • Crawl forward, then turn right;
  • Turn right again, then turn left twice. If you see light through a vent, you are doing everything correctly;
  • Crawl towards the light, then turn left and follow the bend to the right. From here, you will see a glowing flower;
  • Walk past the flower until you fall down.

You will find yourself in a room with Swansea. Pick up the gun near the chair, aim, and shoot the man.

At the cemetery, Swansea with an axe will chase the protagonist. You need to shoot him three times to complete the scene. If he catches the protagonist, you will respawn.

It's best to find a place where you can press your back against a wall, as Swansea can attack from any side. Wait for him to get close, then shoot and watch the cutscene.

When you exit the utility room, the corridor will look different. There will be no doors around, and the path will start to feel like an endless loop. The corridor will narrow and distort, the walls will blur, and eyes will start appearing on various surfaces, watching you. The further you go, the stranger and more blurred the space becomes. This will continue until the corridor transitions into another tunnel.

Go straight until you reach the warehouse. You will see several lights in the distance. Walk along the path above them and you will see Curly sitting with many monitors around. Watch the cartoon on the TV until the cake is placed on the table, and you can click on it to take the «food».

How to Feed Curly

Face Curly again. Our goal is to make him eat, but for this, you need to adjust the angles of the monitors. To make Curly eat, you need to correctly adjust the valves around his body. Each of them is connected to a separate monitor, and adjusting changes the direction of the food movement. If the valves are set incorrectly, Curly will start to feel nauseous. The monitors will display a line indicating which valve needs to be turned to direct the food to the right place.

Having completed the task, turn to the TV and interact with it to control Jimmy.

Just run straight until you reach Curly. After the conversation with him ends, the screen will go dark, and you will find yourself in the ventilation. Move forward and pick up the ultrasound equipment from the tray on the right. With its help, you will be able to examine the growth in the ventilation and find out what is inside.

Try to find an image that looks like a dog. Once you find it, keep following it until the device is ripped from your hands. This will cause both eyes of the growth to open, an alarm will sound, and the scene will change.

You will find yourself in the ventilation ducts again. Now you need to get out of here while escaping from an unknown creature. If you get close to it, the screen will start shaking and blurring. There is no correct path here, just keep moving straight, look for new turns and paths to avoid meeting it, and eventually, you will reach a corridor.

Once in front of the door, turn around and move forward into the dark corridor. Soon, employee cards will start appearing around you. Keep going until you reach a staircase. Climb it, and you will find yourself in what appears to be a cargo hold. Ahead of you will be a statue of Polly — interact with it.

Judgment Day

After talking to the toy, you will find yourself in the ship's living room. Pick up Curly, who is lying on the table, and carefully carry him to the utility compartment. Along the way, you will see many strange things — just keep moving forward.

Inside, you will find an open cryo capsule. Place Curly inside and watch the cutscene.
