Elijah Wood is ready to return to the role of Frodo in the new Lord of the Rings

It looks like we have a good chance of seeing the cast of Peter Jackson's trilogy in the new film The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum. The performer of the role of Frodo Baggins is also ready to join the new film in the Tolkien universe.

Elijah Wood told the JoBlo portal about this in response to a question whether the actor would like to return to Middle-earth:

It would be pretty incredible. I have to say, any return to New Zealand to work with those individuals within the context of that world would be…jumping back into a world that's so beloved and means so much to me. So yeah, it would be awesome.
— Elijah Wood

Note that Elijah Wood will clearly not be the only one who will reprise his character in the new Lord of the Rings. Viggo Mortensen and Ian McKellen previously announced the same intention. The role of Gollum will officially be played by Andy Serkis, who is also announced as the director.

The premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is scheduled for 2026.

Previously, new frames from the anime around the world of Middle-earth appeared.
