New Resident Evil Movie From Director Barbarian Announced
The Hollywood Reporter reports that four film companies are ready to take on the reboot of Resident Evil, based on the Resident Evil horror series. The film adaptation has already acquired a director in the person of Zach Cregger, who shot Barbarian.
According to the publication, major studios are competing for the right to create a new Resident Evil, including Warner Bros. and Netflix. PlayStation Productions and Constantin Film will produce, the latter known for its Resident Evil adaptations with Milla Jovovich. Shay Hatten, who worked on John Wick 4 and Army of the Dead, will co-write the script with Zach Cregger.
As THR states, the upcoming film «will take the title to its horror roots» and will become a more accurate adaptation of the Resident Evil game series. Let us recall that back in June, the first rumors about a possible source of inspiration appeared — Resident Evil Zero. Moreover, Ada Wong may appear in the film.
The premiere date of the new Resident Evil has not yet been announced.
It recently became known which two supervillains could appear in the new trilogy about Spider-Man with Tom Holland.
