The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep anime to feature scene cut from Netflix series

The full-length anime The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will premiere on Netflix in February. Ahead of the premiere, the writers revealed that the animated film will feature a scene cut from the series.

As Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin told SFX magazine, the anime will take place between the fifth and sixth episodes of the first season of The Witcher from Netflix. At that time, Geralt and Yennefer were in a quarrel after the story with the genie, and they barely communicated. According to the writers, the characters were still thinking about each other, but the moment did not make it into the show. However, the anime will feature a «fun little scene» that was cut from the series.

Geralt cannot let Yennefer go, even though he's trying his best. She haunts him. Even if he wanted to be rid of her, he can't.

The previous trailer already revealed that Yennefer, voiced by Anya Chalotra, will appear in the anime after all. The footage probably belonged to the very same excerpt that didn't make it into the first season. This would explain Yennefer's presence in the animated film — its plot is based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story A Little Sacrifice, where the sorceress didn't appear.

The premiere of the anime The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will take place on February 11 on Netflix. Geralt will be voiced by Doug Cockle, whose voice the witcher uses in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
