Netflix Interested in Sifu Adaptation With John Wick Director As Producer

As reported by Deadline, the streaming service Netflix has acquired the rights to adapt the action film Sifu. John Wick director Chad Stahelski has been announced as one of the producers.

The project was announced back in 2022, but the broadcast platform has only now been decided. The film will be produced by two companies at once — Story Kitchen and 87Eleven Entertainment, and T.S. Nowlin, known for the Maze Runner trilogy, will act as the screenwriter. The film does not yet have a premiere date.

Recall that the action game Sifu was released in 2022 for PC, PS4 and PS5. The plot of the game tells the story of a martial arts master who intends to avenge the death of his father. Many people remember the game for its unusual resurrection mechanics — after each death in battle, the main character ages.

Recently, it was also announced that work on the film adaptation of Sleeping Dogs is being restarted. The role of the main character will be played by a Marvel star.
