The Breaking Bad star wanted to organize his own murder because he was too poor
Giancarlo Esposito recently revealed in an interview about the tough times before filming the series Breaking Bad. In 2008, the actor was so poor that he seriously considered arranging his own death so that his children would receive insurance money.
«My way out in my brain was: 'Hey, do you get life insurance if someone commits suicide? Do they get the bread?' My wife had no idea why I was asking this stuff. I started scheming. If I got somebody to knock me off, death by misadventure, [my kids] would get the insurance. I had four kids. I wanted them to have a life. It was a hard moment in time. I literally thought of self-annihilation so they could survive. That's how low I was.»
Fortunately, Esposito abandoned the idea because he realized that his death would emotionally harm his children. Within a year, the actor landed the role of Gus Fring, which brought him worldwide fame.
It's possible that one of Giancarlo Esposito's upcoming roles will be related to Marvel comics. In 2022, the celebrity mentioned that he wouldn't mind playing Charles Xavier.
