Returnal devs did not announce a new game, but they did reveal a video comic

Housemarque made the promised announcement regarding the roguelike Returnal. The secret «project» turned out not to be a story DLC or a new game, but an animated comic created in collaboration with Dark Horse.
The 88-page graphic novel Returnal: Fallen Asteria is now available on YouTube — the video lasts almost five minutes. A physical softcover version will be released at the end of October.
Unfortunately, there are no more news from Housemarque. As a reminder, Sony may hold an online presentation in May to showcase upcoming releases.
