Possible traces of Red Dead Redemption, The Last of Us: Part 2, and other games found in the Epic Games Store database
Last night, a Redditor with the nickname MixV2 talked about EpicDB — a proprietary service in the spirit of SteamDB that allows studying the Epic Games Store database. Network users immediately found traces of unannounced games.
Most of the games are hidden under code names, but in some cases, there are indirect signs pointing to a particular title. For example, the page of the Japanese game Momo by Square Enix hides a remake of Final Fantasy IX, as the list of pre-order bonuses mentions the card game Tetra Master.
Square Enix also found traces of the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI (code name Skobeloff), and on Sony's page, they noticed a project named Utah — possibly a port of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Additionally, Bethesda has pages under the names Morrowind and Oblivion, and Saber Interactive has a mention of a game from the Turok series.
On Rockstar's page, they noticed a project named Semla with a size of 9 GB. Users believe that this is a re-release of Red Dead Redemption, which has the same size on PS4.
It is worth noting that at some point, the database became publicly accessible, so some pages (for example, the remake of Bloodborne) are fake. Mostly, such pages were created on June 9 and later.
Currently, the EpicDB service is not working. Recall that in 2021 a similar leak occurred at NVIDIA. At that time, we learned about the existence of the PC version of God of War, Crysis 4, and other projects.
