Diablo 4 will feature a roguelike mode: season five review
June 23, 2024, 11:05 AM
Blizzard has released a detailed overview of everything that will appear in the fifth season of Diablo 4. A special roguelike mode will be added to the game, and the choice of weapons for different classes will become even more accessible.
What changes will be added with the new season:
- A new line of repeated quests Eyes of the Enemy. You can start it in Khavezar by taking on the task of investigating unrest among the townspeople. The task only needs to be completed once for the entire account. Upon completion, players will have access to the Infernal Hordes mode;
- New Infernal Hordes mode — players will need to fend off waves of enemies like in a roguelike, choosing power-ups after each successful battle. To activate it, you will need a special item — the Hellish Compass, which can be improved. As a reward, you will be offered one of four trophies, including equipment and materials. After this, players will have a battle with the High Council of Zakarum, which many are familiar with from Diablo 2;
- Weapons and equipment will be replenished with new legendary items, which will have a high chance of dropping in Infernal Hordes mode;
- Improvements and Fixes — A Summoning Altar will be added to dungeons for repeated boss battles, and different classes will be able to use different types of weapons (for example, wizards can fight with one-handed swords).
A more detailed list of changes can be found here.
Players will be able to try out all the new items on the test server from June 25 to July 2.
