Rumor: Valve to release a major update for Half-Life 2
Valve is likely going to release a major update for Half-Life 2 in honor of the game's 20th anniversary. This is hinted at by a fresh build of the game found in SteamDB.
Users noticed a build called test, which appeared yesterday in the game's profile. Access to it is blocked — a password is required. Fans have suggested that this is a future update for Half-Life 2, which may be released for the game's anniversary on November 16.
Earlier, the first part received a similar update in honor of its 25th anniversary. Before that, the game also acquired a mysterious test build in the SteamDB profile. Valve returned cut content to Half-Life, added a mini-campaign, expanded graphics settings and made other improvements. In addition, the game was given away for free on Steam for some time.
Recall that rumors recently appeared about a new game in the Half-Life universe. This could be either an independent part or a continuation of the series.
