The second season of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power has been released
The second season of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power has been released on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service. Viewers have access to the first three episodes out of eight.
The second season will tell about Sauron's attempts to gain power over Middle-earth using magic rings. The oldest elf Cirdan the Shipwright and Tom Bombadil will also appear in the show. The creators of the series released the first three episodes at once — Elven Kings Under the Sky, Where the Stars Are Strange and The Eagle and the Scepter. The remaining episodes will be released once a week, starting on September 5.
Critics on Rotten Tomatoes rated the second season of The Rings of Power at 86% (there are no audience ratings yet), while on Metacritic the project has only 66 points out of 100.
Recall that in 2026, the full-length film The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will be released. The cast of the film has not yet been announced, but several actors from Peter Jackson's trilogy have expressed a desire to return to their roles.
