Bloomberg: Apple Set to Announce a Smart Home Tablet
Apple is reportedly planning to introduce a new device category as early as March—a wall-mounted display for managing smart home systems. According to Bloomberg, the company aims to catch up with competitors like Alphabet and Amazon.
The device is described as a square-shaped iPad with thick bezels and a 6-inch touchscreen. It will feature a camera and built-in speakers on its body. Additionally, it boasts an enhanced interface, reportedly similar to the Apple Watch operating system and the StandBy mode on iPhone.
Engineers anticipate the tablet will primarily be controlled through voice commands. With Siri and Apple Intelligence, users will be able to activate household appliances, conduct video calls, and run various apps.
The tablet will be available in silver and black. Pricing remains undisclosed.
