2K has announced the removal of its proprietary launcher from games available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players can now launch the publisher's titles directly without needing the extra service.

According to customer support, the changes primarily affect games like Bioshock Remastered, Bioshock 2 Remastered, Bioshock Infinite, The Quarry, and Marvel's Midnight Suns. Additionally, XCOM 2 and XCOM: Chimera Squad have been updated to support mods on the Steam Deck.

Support also noted that launcher files may still be present on users' computers and recommended deleting them manually.

Earlier, 2K announced a new installment in the Mafia series, focusing on Don Salieri's younger years. The game is set to release in 2025.
