Borderlands 4 and New Mafia Game Confirmed for The Game Awards 2024
Gearbox Software head Randy Pitchford confirmed that Borderlands 4 will be revealed at The Game Awards 2024. The news follows an announcement by Geoff Keighley, host of the event, that Mafia: The Old Country will also receive a showing.
Mafia: The Old Country, developed by Hangar 13 (the studio behind Mafia 3 and Mafia: Definitive Edition), is set in early 20th-century Sicily. Borderlands 4 will pick up immediately after the events of Borderlands 3, taking players to a brand-new planet. Both games are built using Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
TGA 2024 takes place on December 12th. This year's Game of the Year nominees include Astro Bot, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Metaphor: ReFantazio.
