Another Insider Mentions a Remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Talk of a remaster for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is gaining momentum. Jez Corden, an editor at Windows Central, posted on X that he expects the game to be revealed during the January Xbox Developer_Direct event.
While Corden doesn’t know the specifics of the project, he believes Bethesda is working on a remaster rather than a full remake. Earlier reports from a former Virtuos Games employee suggested the game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, with a potential release date in early 2025.
It's unclear how the announcement of an Oblivion remaster might affect Skyblivion—the fan-made remake of the game built on the Skyrim engine. The project has been in development for over a decade, and fans worry it might face legal threats from Bethesda.
The Xbox Developer_Direct is also expected to showcase titles like Avowed, Fable, Doom: The Dark Ages, The Outer Worlds 2, and South of Midnight. Which games are you hoping to see?
