Nier Automata Hits 9 Million Units Sold
Nier Automata continues to enjoy widespread popularity, with PlatinumGames recently announcing on social media that the game has surpassed 9 million units sold across all platforms.
Released in 2017, Nier Automata quickly won the hearts of both players and critics. The project received high praise and was nominated for prestigious awards including the Golden Joystick Awards, The Game Awards, the British Academy Games Awards, and the D.I.C.E. Awards. One of the key factors contributing to the game’s popularity is the iconic android character 2B, who has become a popular subject of cosplay, fan art, and mods.
Thanks to numerous collaborations, 2B has made appearances in titles such as the fighting game SoulCalibur 6, the PvP shooter Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, the battle royale PUBG: Battlegrounds, Fall Guys, Naraka: Bladepoint, and the mobile gacha game Goddess of Victory: Nikke. More recently, the character was added to the action game Stellar Blade.
