Creators of The Witcher 4 Respond to Comparisons with The Blood of Dawnwalker by Former Wild Hunt Developers
Yesterday’s announcement of The Blood of Dawnwalker, a dark action RPG from former The Witcher 3 developers, sparked a wave of comparisons between it and The Witcher 4. Some fans, critical of December’s trailer featuring Ciri, prematurely hailed Dawnwalker as the true successor to Wild Hunt.
However, most gamers agree that the two games can coexist peacefully. One such post on the social platform X garnered over half a million views and caught the attention of both studios.
"Dawnwalker is looking awesome, and The Witcher 4 is looking awesome too. Both can exist together. One doesn't mean the other one is dead. It's not a competition. Have some respect," wrote a gamer.
The post was retweeted by Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, lead developer of The Blood of Dawnwalker, as well as Patrick Mills and Philipp Weber from CD Projekt RED. The latter also emphasized the close relationship between the two studios.
Neither game has a confirmed release date yet. Gameplay for The Blood of Dawnwalker is promised for summer 2025.
