Skyrim Special Edition Gets a 90% Discount and Nearly Breaks Its Steam Player Count Record

Players have noticed that Skyrim Special Edition came close to breaking its all-time peak player record on Steam. Last night, the platform recorded 67,000 concurrent players, just shy of the 69,000 peak it reached at launch in 2016.
This surge in activity is thanks to a record-breaking 90% discount. Currently, the game is available for just €3.99.
For comparison, the original version of Skyrim hit a peak of 287,000 concurrent players — the number of adventurers exploring Bethesda's new game on November 13, 2011.
Earlier, one of Skyrim's developers shared how the game almost lost the ability to transform into a werewolf.
